I believe that after Margot missed the sun, she will be even more silent. She'll probably fall asleep and dream of the sun, but she'll cry for it. She'll fall out of place even more. But I feel like the kids that locked her in the closet will be kinder to her and feel sorry for her. They know now that they were wrong to have called her a liar when she told them what the sun was like. They'll no longer bully her and believe her maybe try and accept her but she won't want to be accepted.
Katya, I love your first sentence. I think she will become more silent and withdrawn, too. I also agree that the kids will not bully her any more, but I don't know if this will matter to her at this point. I feel like the damage is already done--not repairable. Mrs. D
Edquist Daniel Period 1 I think Margot will treat the other children worse. In all, she was the one who wanted to see the sun the most. After the children took away the one and only thing she liked on Venus. Margot will probably ask her parents to take her back to Earth. I feel very bad for Margot. The teacher pretty much didn't even care that Margot was gone.
I agree with you Daniel because she wanted to see the sun badly and couldn't. Also I think that she will go to earth, and the teacher was probably not focusing on her because she might have wanted to see the sun.
I agree with you Daniel because she wanted to see the sun badly and couldn't. Also I think that she will go to earth, and the teacher was probably not focusing on her because she might have wanted to see the sun.
Daniel, I never even thought to think about the teacher. I wonder if she knew about Margot...hmmm? Will the kids tell her? Will Margot tell her? What will the teacher do when or if she finds out? Mrs. D
Daniel the teacher didn't know Margot was in a closet. She thought she was with the rest of the class. Wouldn't it be hard to keep track of like 30 children and not notice one was missing?
Peyton T. Period 1 I think that Margot will try to prove them wrong once again about the sun. I think that she will try to be more involved and e more "out there" but still keep to herself. I think that the kids will let Margot be by herself and not make fun of her anymore. I think she will be more confident. For example, I think that if William or anybody else calls her a mean name she will stick up for herself knowing what had happened before.
I don't exactly see how being locked in the closet and missing the one thing she was hoping to see for years would make her more confident. I mean, she has seen the sun, remembers it, and waited for 5 years to see it again, but is then locked in a closet when it comes out. How would this make her want to be "out there" and get involved with the kids who basically crushed her hopes?
Nettelhorst Calvin Period 1 I think she will get upset and want to be alone while storming out of the room. Then she will tell the teacher she was in distracted and forgot about the event to keep the kids safe from punishment. After that she will probably just mope around until the children all apologize for locking her in the closet.
I agree with you. I said something similar in my response. The only thing that I don't agree with is I don't think all the children will apologize. I don't think that William would apologize because he just seems to mean.
Bailey M. Period 1 I think Margot will act coldly to them and become even more reclusive than before. She might start to stop willingly participate in class and would speak even less than before. She would also be very upset and would probably spend the next few minutes crying and or looking shocked. The kids may lay off her a bit, considering they locked her in the closet. The kids also probably feel really bad for her now.
Hmmm...I think she was acting coldly before she got locked in the closet. She wasn't exactly warm and friendly towards them, right? Wasn't that the reason her peers didn't like her? Mrs. D
Jacobo S. Period 1 I think she will be upset and she will no longer talk about anything at all. The kids might be nicer to her because she was telling the truth about the sun. She might want her parents to go back to Earth even more. The teacher might punish all these kids for making her miss the sun.
I agree this is probably going to happen. I infer though the kids might just forget about locking her in the closet the next day and go back to being mean to her. Both ways have the same outcome of her going back to earth. I think you got it pretty spot on though.
I agree with you, Margot will probably ignore everyone even more. The other children might be a little bit more nicer. Her parents will probably take her home
I believe that Margot will try to get as far away from the kids as possible. She will probably be completely anti-social. Maybe when she is 21 she will start talking again. Margot might get used to the rain more. I think she would be really mad and sad at first, but eventually forgive them they all will be friends (hopefully).
I think Margot will be mad at William for making her miss the sun. I think she will act like she was acting before. She will still be shy and only sing along when they sing about the sun. I think she might stand up for herself more this time. I think that William will still push her around but the other children will feel bad for her and won't listen to William.
I agree on most of your theory. I also think she will be mad at William and the other kids because the other kids didn't stand up to her, ad because William is the main to blame here. I'm not sure if she would be more confident or not though, because those little children crushed her hopes and dreams. Other than that, I agree with you! :)
Alex R. Period 1 I think that Margot will be even more silent. Margot might not even talk to the children for a while. She might even ignore them. She might even fight back. Margot will probably want to go back to earth so she can see the sun and be with her family.
I like the idea that she might go back to Earth with her family. I agree with that idea. I think that she will go back to Earth but not to see the sun, but to get away from the other children.
Samir S. P.1 I like how you involve the most obvious details, without explaining the blog with a summary of the act the students did to Margot. I noticed that you used some repetition such as 'might even' in mostly every sentence you start with.
Bella G Period 1 I think that Margot will be devastated, not talk to them at all, and be even more silent. She will cry and complain even more to her parents that she wants to go back home to Ohio where she can see the sun almost everyday! Though she will hate her classmates I think her classmates will try to be nicer to her because they feel bad about not believing her about all the things she told them about the sun. The classmates should get in trouble for doing that to Margot. Now she has to wait seven more years until she sees the sun again.
Though I did not mention that she might want to go back Ohio, I agree with you. I think that she will hate them but not really show it because she is such a shy person. I think they should get in trouble, but I don't think Margot would have told the teacher. Sriti D. =)
I agree completely with you response. It is just practically just what I said! I like that you said that the bullies should get in trouble (I think they should get into a lot of trouble too).
After Margot missed the sun and the kids took her out of the closet, I think they had some sympathy towards Margot. After all, it was there fault she missed the sun. Margot should get justice because she missed the sun but she is very quiet so if she doesn't speak up she will just be treated the same. When the kids locked Margot in the closet she for once spoke up. Hopefully Margot will realize that speaking is the key to her fitting in.
I think that after Margot missed the sun she will be just as sad. The bulling will probably stop because they all know that the sun is real and will try to be nicer to her after they treated her so poorly, causing her to miss the sun. For them, seeing the sun is a one in 7 years. Margot longed for the sun and missing it would be a big deal for her and everyone else. The kids probably feel pretty stupid for doing what they did.
Anna, Good point about the kids. I agree they will probably stop bullying her because I think they have learned a valuable lesson. They did something to her that is irreversible Mrs. D.
Brian T. Period 1 I think she is going to be really angry and sad. She probably knows that the Sun was out.She will now hate the kids more than ever. They made her miss the moment of her life. Her parents will feel even more obliged to take her home now because she is being bullied horribly. But after they remembered Margot, they sounded sad.Maybe they will be nicer to her, and the other way around.
Brian, I love your use of the word obliged. I agree with you! Her parents will probably have to take her home sooner. She is going to be a hot mess after this experience. I felt so sad for her at the end of the story. Mrs. D
Kate P. Period 2 I think Margot will be mad at the children (especially William) because the little kids got to enjoy the Sun while Margot was locked up in the closet. Although she didn't get to see the Sun and won't see it for the next seven years, she lived on Earth when she was four, and the others are jealous that she got to see the Sun when she was on Earth.
I am not sure she will be angry. I think she will be more depressed and unhappy. She was so sad before she got locked in the closet. I can't imagine what she will be like now. I feel so bad for Margot. Mrs. D
I disagree with you, I don't think she is going to be angry when she comes out of the closet. I think she will be upset and not say anything to anyone because she never said anything to them in the first place. She will probably just beg her parents to go back to Earth. Paige A
I agree with Paige. I think she will want to go back to Earth. I think she will be really sad. I also think she will be upset because of what they did to her. Sriti D.
I think that Margot will treat the other kids by not saying anything. I think she is probably really upset and mad because she kind of remembered the sun but wanted to see and feel it again. Margot would probably just cry and plead to go back to Earth. She will be really upset with her classmates and never be able to forgive them. Hopefully she will be able to go back to Earth where she can see the sun all the time.
I agree with crying and pleading to go back to Earth. Also, she will never forgive her classmates and never want to be near them even more. She is very mad and sad about missing the very thing she loved which is the sun.
I think Margot won't be extremely enraged and frustrated. I think that she would come out quiet, depressed, and sad. The kids already feel terrible for her, so I don't think the story would continue with her coming out of the locker and beating all of them up. I think that it would fit better if Margot would stay quiet for the rest of her life, and never talk to anyone except who she trusts.
Patrick, I agree with you! I don't think Margot has the kind of personality to have a violent reaction towards the kids in her class. I think she will sink deeper into her sadness. She may not talk to others. I think this is a safe inference to make about Margot. Mrs. D
I think that when the kids opened the closet and see Margot she would be sitting and crying then she will get up and be really angry and sad. She proved everyone wrong and said that the sun would come out that very day but no one listened to her and the main bully William locked her in a closet and she missed the sun come out, now she has to wait seven years until the next sun.
I agree with you Jonathan. I think Margot will be a very sad girl when they open up the locker, not super mad, because she proved them wrong. Good post.
I agree because she was in the closet for the whole time when the sun came out because she hasn't seen it in so long and she told that right. Anyway, Alan Hoffman
I think that William should never be able to see the sun again. I think that because Isabel will have to wait until she is 16 before she sees another sun again. On Venus, it sounds really depressing and Margot is really depressed herself and that little glimpse of sunlight could of made her happy. But then she gets locked in a closet and isn't able to see the sun.
Josh, I like the idea of punishing William by not letting him see the sun next time. I never thought of giving William a consequence. Do you think the teacher will ever find out what happened? Mrs. D
Dunya D. Period 2 After the children let Margot out of the closet I think her reaction maybe sadness and anger. She might walk out of the closet with tears running down her face and inside she is boiling with anger. Also she will be hurt inside for missing the sun and tell her parents what happened to her. She will plead to leave and when she is in class she will stay away from all the other children even more. Even if all the other children will apologize she will try to stay away and when she leaves back to Earth she will be relieved and enjoy the sun everyday.
I agree with you, I think Margot will stay the same or even come more reserved/ shy. Like you said, she will be hurt that she missed the sun but she will not do anything about it. She will just go on fine with being treated poorly. From; Naya:)
I agree with you that Margot will come out of the closet crying. I agree with you because she wanted to see the sun so badly and she can't see it for another seven years. Paige A
I don't think Margot will be any different than she was before the sun. I feel like the author had her be like a aggressive character. If she did do something it would surprise me. When Margot was shoved in a closet she new she wpuld miss the sun and have to wait 7 more years. The other kids are jealous because Magot got to see the sun more than the other kids. William is the most jealous because he shoved Margot into a closet. Even if she did go on a rage it would not do much.
I think Margot will be quiet. I don't think she would be mad after because the emotional toll from missing the sun and having to wait 7 years. I think she will never talk again. If I was in that situation I would never talk especially to the kids.
I like how you expressed Margot's sadness as "emotional toll". I think it will be very hard for her to bounce back from this experience of being locked in the closet and missing the sun. Mrs. D
I think Margot would still act very sad, but now with anger at all the children but she would mostly be angry at William, since he was the one who told all the kids to put her in the closet. I also think she might be ratified since she told everyone that the sun was going to come out but nobody believed her. I also think that the kids should stop being so mean to her and that her parents should now really ho back to Earth so she could see the sun again because she missed a life time experience and she won't be able to see it in another seven years.
I like your point about Margot being right about the sun. Unfortunately, her being right will not help her see the sun again for another seven years. I am not sure she will be angry at the students. I think she will just be more sad and maybe even depressed.
Sam B 4 I think Margot will be mad but also take into consideration that she has seen the sun more than they will in a lifetime.I still think Margot will be mad and it will take her long to forgive but those mean and selfish kids now know how it feel to be in the sun and how awesome it is. Margot feels happy that they know how the sun is.
You put something out there that is completely different from anybody else. You think she'll be mad which happens to be true with most of the people's thoughts but you think that Margot feels happy that they know what the sun is like. I didn't think of that but now I think you might be right.
Aliyan V 4th period Your summary has good detail and really attracts a reader to read this story. I also like your details in your summary like Margot is completely different than every one else.
Margot will be sad. She wanted to see the sun the most. She was locked up a closet. She saw the sun almost every day when she was on Earth. She moved to Venus when she was four years old. She has been living on Venus for five years and she want to see the warm, bright sun again, but she never does. The book, All Summer in a Day, is a great book.
I agree with you about the point that she will be sad, but I also think she will be angry at the other children. I think she will ignore them and try to avoid and make them feel bad.
Aliyan V 4th Period Margot would feel sad because she move from Earth to Venus an the sun only comes out for a couple hours every 7 years. The kids treated her with no respect. When they came back from playing they realized they didn't let Margot out. I feel like Margot will not get mad. She is the person who doesn't get mad. Read the book All Summer In A Day.
I agree with you that she will be sad considering that she had hope to see the sun on that very day. I do think that she will get mad though since they didn't have respect to even go get her after the sun came out. She won't harm them verbally or physically, but she will show her anger by avoiding and ignoring them.
I think Margot will treat the other kids really badly. I don't think she will do anything to harm them in any way, but she will ignore them. The other kids must be feeling really bad because she was telling them earlier that today was the day that the sun would come out. Seeing the sun was really important for her and they took that moment away from her. Worse, they locked her in a closet while they were out enjoying the sun.
I agree that Margot won't be abusive to them. But she will still be mad. She will probably ignore them like you said, and never talk to them. Good post Renaldo.
I agree with you completely, because she was the one who wanted to see the sun the most. She also told them all about how the sun looked on Earth when she was little.
I think Margot treat the other kids differently in a bad way. I don't think she will hit them, but she will probably ignore them. She will probably be very mad because she was very persistent in the fact the sun was coming out that day, and nobody would believe her. Yet she was the one that didn't get to see the sun. She will probably be really disappointed in her classmates. I think her classmates will respect her a little more.
I agree with you that they will give more respect to her, because all the children didn't believe her about the sun. I think Margot might ask her parents to back to Earth immediately, because she was being treated very badly on Venus.
I agree with both of you. She will probably not act out, but she will feel even more depressed. I think her parents will take her back sooner after this incident, too.
I think that Margret will be mad at everyone because she missed the sun,but I think that she will forgive them because this is the first time they saw the sun while she has seen it millions of times
Matthew B 4 I think that Margot will be very mad at the other kids because they got to enjoy the sunlight for an hour while Margot was locked in the closet for no reason. I also think that Margot will still not answer when she is spoken to. I think this because she is going to be mad that she didn't get to see the sunlight, for another 7 years. That is a very long time. Even though she has seen the Sun many times before, she wanted to see the Sun very badly. I also think that she will be happy for the other kids, because they haven't seen the Sun as many times as she has.
If she is going to be mad, I think it will be more inward. I don't think that she will act out towards others. She will probably withdraw into herself even more.
Xavier 4th hour I think that margot would maybe treat them like not talking to them and then not really gonna be friends with them or she could maybe forgive them or hate them and maybe she might not do anything or maybe the kidsmight be more nice to margot and say sorry to her and be nice to her and not be as mean to her and even thank her for the describtion of the sun nd probably feel really bad and then she might forgive them all and be friensds. Also i think that soon she will see the sun againand then think of the time that happened to her.
I like your thinking, but you need to take a moment to use proper punctuation and capitalization in your response. This will help your reader to better comprehend the wonderful thinking you put into your response.
I think Margot would be sad because William and his friends put her in a closet because they didn't believe her that the sun was going to come out today and she was right. She told them all right and the sun came out and she should have some respect for telling them that the sun came out and they should be punished for putting here in a closet and threatening her and now she has to wait 7 more years for to play with the sun to come out.
I think Margot will be very angry at the kids. Her dream was to see the sun, and when it finally came out she missed it. All of the kids especially William, were really mean to her and ruined everything for her. William was the main problem, and the one who had the idea to lock her in the closet. If she did get to see the sun when all the kids were outside, she would off proved them wrong. But now she has to wait another 7 years.
I agree with you about how William was the main root of the problem. If he hadn't locked Margot up, she would have gotten to see the sun. Also, maybe both Margot's and the other kid's attitudes might have changes towards each other.
I totally agree with you. She is going to be mad for another 7 years until she sees the sun again. William had the idea to bully her and lock her in a closet.
I agree that Margot is very sad. I also think that she will be more mad instead of sad at the kids. I think that William and the other kids are going to feel a little bad for her and be nicer to her.
11/19/13 Angelina R. 4th hour I think Margot will be angry & upset with the other children because the other children got to enjoy the sun for an hour while Margot was locked in a closest.I also think That some of the kid will feel bad for Margot Because they locked Margot in the closet and because the sun only sets 1 day out of seven years for one hour.I think Margot won’t speak to her classmates for a long time because She going to have to wait another seven years to enjoy light & warmth.I Also think she will feel happy or glad for the other kids because the other kids didn't see the sun as much as she has.
I agree with you because she was waiting for this day and not she has to wait another seven years. I don't understand how she would not come out and be angry and sad.
I think that Margot won't treat them badly. She might just ignore them. I think that she won't treat them badly because she is nice. She also might just tell her parents to take her home. She will probably lock him up in the closet next time the sun comes out
Saira A. 6th hour I think that Margot will be treated very differently now that she missed the sun. I think Margot will be treated a lot nicer because the kids feel really bad that they locked her in the closet. Not only did they just lock her in a closet on any random day, but it was the day that Margot was dreaming about for 5 years. The day the sun came out. The kids forgot all about her when they were enjoying the sun, and they only realized it when it was too late.
I agree with you. At the end of the book I think the kids had some sympathy towards her and felt very bad. But if Margot doesn't speak up for herself soon, everything will be back to normal. From; Naya A.
After the cruel punishment Margot’s classmates gave her, I think Margot will have a silent disagreement. My prediction is that her classmates apologize to her immensely, and every time they do, Margot doesn’t do anything. A plain expression would be kept on her face, as she simply says,” I told you so.” Her quiet voice would create a harsh effect on them, showing how much they regretted their decision. Margot would be even more unhappy than she was before, and not even join in on the songs they sang before. Margot would be utterly depressed, because her one chance to see the sun was snatched away from her.
I think Margot might ignore them. Because she is the quietest and shy. And if she doesn't ignore them she will treat them badly and be mad at them. Or she might brag that she is going to move the next year back to earth. If she doesn't move then I think she'll be really mad at the kids for a long time because she really wanted to see the sun and Venus without rain.
I think that Margot is very upset that she missed the sun. The awful children locked her up, when all she wanted to see was the sun. I thin, Margot has every right to be upset with the other children because they did this to her. The other children should have just left her alone instead of tormenting her. Margot also probably feels like she can't be mad at the other kids because they push her down so much, and ruin her confidence. I think Margot should at least try to stand up for herself.
I think that Margot won’t react that bad even though she really wanted to see it. She is a nice person but, I think she will ignore them for a while. But I think she will also react mad and angry. I think she won’t even look at them. But I think the kids might tell her that the sun didn't come out and that she shouldn't be mad. But if she does figure out I think she will be more depressed and still keep looking out the window.
I think that Margot will treat the other students with disrespect after they made her miss the sun. She will probably be really mean to the rest of her classmates because of the mean thing that they did to her. She will probably ignore the class even more. She might be bossy to them and start bullying them for being mean to her, locking her in a closet, and for making her missing the sun after waiting for several years to finally see it then they trap her in a closet because they thought that she was lying about the sun coming out.
Alex LaRoussa 6th hour I think Margot will cry and tell the teacher. Margot might be mad and lash out like crazy. Margot will not talk or do anything except stare out the window more than before. Margot will cry every day of that fact.
Maren P Diamond 6 I don't think Margot will be happy. She is very shy, and I think she'll just keep quiet. She probably feels really Upset and irritated inside but she's too shy to tell or admit it.She might act even gloomier and talk even less. I bet she is really hoping her parents will take her home. I think she doesn't have much hope though because her parents probably sent her there for money because they are in debt or something, because they got money for sending her there. I think she doesnt have much hope in going home because her parents because they probably sent her there for money.
I think Margot would be mad and even more depressed than she already is. I also think she will shun them and give them the silent treatment. I also think the other children won't be happy with themselves I think they will be depressed too. I also think in general the whole world is depressed I think she will also go crazy and do something crazy.
Sylwia S 6th Hour I think that Margot would treat them with no respect. The kids doubted her and them they got to go see the sun and forgot all about her. After what happened I think that Margot might go back to Earth because she can't get along. But, her parents might not let her because of the money situation. So Margot might have to just be miserable.
Hannah R. Period 6 I think that Margot will still treat the other children as she usually will. She is usually very quiet, and shy. She usually does not talk to anyone, and I think that it will stay like that. Also, I think that the other kids will be very nice to Margot, since they made her miss the sun. I do not think that kids are going to be mean to Margot anymore. If I was Margot, I would never talk to any kid in my class again.
After reading this story for a second time I felt worse for Margot than I did in the when reading the first time.I felt like this because I feel like she was just a helpless baby that couldn't take care of herself. I just wanted to jump into the book and unlock the closet!
I don't think Margot will do anything to bad. She is to nice and to shy. She will just keep to herself and wait for the next time the sun comes out, in seven years. I think she would be to scared to stand up for herself. She would be to scared the other kids would make fun of her and back sling at her.
I think your right because that she is to shy to do anything bad to other people, i think she will be kind of depressed that she didn't see it but at least she told them right about that the sun was going to come
I think that Margot at first will be very mad at the kids that trapped her in the closet but then later I think that Margot will be very forgiving. I think that Margot will be mad because the sun was something that she was so used to seeing and then the when she finally gets the chance to she does not get to. She will only be a little forgiving. Margot should be a little mad at them. Margot has been torn from something she loves.
Robert T. I believe that the other children were being bullies to Margot..... She wanted to see the sun sooooo bad but she couldn't. she was locked up in a closet. :( So mean!!!! If i was a teacher I would give those kids lunch detentions or worse. That was so mean! After all Margot Missed the sun! Why would they do that? Im so mad! For SEVEN years she was waiting, and she missed it! just because she's different! How mean! I don't know what to say! Im MAD right now WHY???
I think she will hate the kids but not that much. She wasn't really missing anything because she got to see the sun on earth all the time. She is a forgiving girl. I wonder if she will go to earth. Will she loose lots of money if she does move
Samir S. P.1 I believe that Margot will barely will ever trust the children for a long time, due to how Margot waited and waited almost a huge chunk of her life. Margot is most likely not going to tell the teacher anything about the students heinous prank. Since Margot is a silent, quiet girl she might have trouble to also communicate properly to others. I also feel that Margot has trouble debating and fitting in smooth and easy with the other students. Read All Summer In a Day to know how Margot has a problem with other kids and gets bullied easily and violently.
Sam B 4 I think what you said is 100% true about her never take a long time to trust them again but she might tell the teacher and maybe in there planet something more than a punishment seeing the sun in there eyes is like seeing a double rain bow in our eyes it barley happens. Other than that good job.
I think Margot will have a mix of rage and sad emotions. Seeing the sun was her lifelong desire. But the other kids took it away by locking her in the closet and taking that away from her. I really don't like William because he was a jerk to Margot and didn't believe her. I wouldn't push her in the closet and I think the other kids were jealous of her living on Earth before.
Sam B 4 I think you are right about William not believing her she really did not care that he did not believe in him she wanted herself to believe. he only crime she did was hope.
Arha C. Period 8 I think that Margot will still act the same towards the other classmates, shy and quiet. I think that she feels sad and angry that she didn't get to see the Sun, but Margot doesn't seem like the person to act mean, even to people who've treated her bad. Also, I don't think that she is going to be very upset for a long time because she knows that she is going to move back to Earth and see the Sun more often than the other kids,
I agree that Margot will shy away from them as you said. Also she most likely will beg her parents to take her back to Earth. Margot won't be mean to them but maybe won't forgive them for what they did because she loved the sun and they made her miss it.
I think that Margot will be angry at the kids for trapping her in the closet, but later on forgive them because she has a kind warm-heart. I think she will also be sad for seeing the sun because that was her only dream and that is what she wanted to do. I also think she will ask her parents to take her back to earth because she is upset that she didn't see the sun. I feel bad that Margot didn't see the sun because the sun only comes to Venus every seven years. Hopefully Margot will see the sun again after another seven years.
I agree with u on being angry at the kid, but I think that she will never forgive them. She was already so sad that she never got to see the sun. Its a good thing she is going back to earth or she would be a wreck.
I think that Margot will continue being quiet around the children and may act more depressed. The other children didn’t believe there even was a sun and bullied her and called her a liar. They put her in a closet and forgot about her and then the sun came out for the first time in seven years. She now has to go longer without the sun. She will have waited twelve years for just two hours of sun if her family doesn’t go back to earth, where she would see the sun again. Margot is treated unfairly because she is different. Even though the other kids felt bad, it didn’t make her less depressed. She might be treated less unkind but she will continue the same quiet behavior. I hope Margot can go back to earth and see the sun everyday.
Knowing some information about Margot’s character and personality, I think Margot will continue to be quiet and not do much about how the other children have treated her. I noticed through the story she doesn’t really express how she feels. She won’t speak for herself, and won’t stand up to others. Maybe, the children will react to Margot because of what they did to her-- they may be nicer or treat her a little bit better. But, I don’t think Margot’s reaction will change from what it was before-- she will still be that quiet soul that no one really cares about.
My reaction was equal to yours: I also thought she won't act upon herself. I also like how you stated evidence from the story to support the idea that Margot actually will still remain quiet, shy, etc...
I think Margot will not treat the kids very well because I think that she is really annoyed with what they have already done to her like for not believing her. Also I don't think that she will treat them well because she kept on telling them that the sun was going to come out and they said no it won't and it ended up coming out just like Margot said. But I also think that Margot will eventually forgive her classmates for what they did because she has a kind heart. Also I think that she will forgive them later because she never really got to mad when they would never believe her she would always forgive them at the end.And that is what I think Margot will do.
I agree with you and how you said she would eventually forgive the other kids. She is soft-spoken, and has a kind heart-- that's what will cause her to take pity on them.
I think Margot will be mad at William and his friends because they thought she was lying about her seeing the sun and what it felt like. She will probably be silent again for the next 7 years until she sees the sun again. I think she is kind of happy for the children because they got to see what the sun was like. If the kids try to punish her again she will be too shy or scared to even stand up for herself. She probably wishes she could go back to Earth so that she doesn't have to be with the other children.
I think that Margot will be very sad, full with vexation (irritated) at William and the other kids, because seeing the sun was once in seven years, and Margot missed it, so I think that she will treat the other children really mean with ange. But she maybe just make WIlliam apologize to Margot for what he has done to her, and not have to fight each other, but I am sure that Margot will keep missing the sun, and act like herself again and not talk to anyone.
I feel that Margot would never forgive anyone who locked her in the closet. I feel that she won't because even though the children did not believe her, she did not really care what they thought. Margot believed what she thought was true. Also, I think that Margot might be very mad and sad at them, but might ease up a little to them if they felt sorry, selfish, and/or foolish and apologized. I think that the children will listen to Margot and believes anything she says about the sun because of the day the sun finally came out. Margot seems like the type of person who does not care what other people think or do because she knows deep down in her heart that the truth is what she believes and will always know in her heart. That is why that I know that Margot is not going to react as badly or harshly someone else or maybe you might react.
I think that Margot will be really angry and never talk or look at the students ever again. This is because they locked her in a closet when there was only 1 hour of sun on Venus. Another reason is because they had already treated her badly since she moved there. That would make her even angrier because there are 2 things that she would be furious about. I think if the other kids wouldn't have bullied her so much she wouldn't be as mad.
I agree with you very much, if I was in the situation of being Margot, I wouldn't talk to William and I would be full with anger. Maybe Margot should just go back to Earth by pleading her parents?
I think that Margot will not treat the children in a good or bad way, and will only be mad at them on the inside. Because of her personality, I think that Margot will ignore her classmates. Margot almost never stands up to the children, and even if she does, she never wins. So even if her classmates treat her nicely and apologize after the incident, she will probably not believe anything they say. Margot’s classmates ruined her biggest dream, seeing the sun, by locking her in a closet the only time it would ever come in seven years.
I agree with you very much, I would have the same feeling if I was Margot, and even if William apologized to me, I would still be furious and not talk to them.
I think she will be mad at her class mates but not show it. Since she is shy she will probably just hide her anger instead of yelling at them. She will also be pretty sad about not being able to see the sun because that is one of the only things that makes her happy. She probable won't mention her anger that much though. I think that maybe the other kids will be kinder to her because they will remember the sun now. She may even be treated better by the boy who was being mean to her.
I agree! Margot is especially shy and is known for not showing her feelings. It that William will be nicer to Margot since she proved him wrong. He should have at least made an effort to be nicer to Margot and to stop taunting her.
I think that Margot is going to become a bully like William . I also, think that Margot is going to be so mad that the William is going to be the victim of Margot bulling . This will make Margot more tough and she is not going take anything from anyone anymore! Margot is going to make the kids feel really sad in till all of them apologize for locking her up in the closet. Eventually everyone is going to be so bullied by Margot so badly they will remember her name in till their dead!
I don't think that Margot would become a bully like WIlliam, but maybe it is possible, because of how the children treated her and Margot would be full of anger and jealous that she couldn't see the sun.
I think that she will get very mad at the kids because they locked her in a closet when the sun was out. On the planet they are on the sun only comes out once every seven year for only one hour. Also i think she will miss the sun more because she remembers a time when she saw the sun almost everyday. Also when they open the closet I think she will be crying and not wanting to come out.
I do not think Margot will be either mean to the kids or be great friends with them. I think she would kind of keep it to herself. Margot is probably mad at the kids for locking her up into the closet when there is only two hours every once in a while to see it. Since Margot is from planet Earth she is so used to seeing the sun everyday but now it is like a gift to see the sun. Margot may forgive her classmates if they were to give a sincere apology to her, otherwise she will not really be involved with them.
Sylwia S I think that Margot might do that. I only had that she would be mean to the kids not be nice(i know you said or not be great with them. that's what I didn't have). I think that your idea is a very good one!
I dont think Margot will forgive them. They were cruel and jealous. If it wasn't for Margot they might not even slightly new what the sun was like. Besides soon Margot will be going back to earth and will be able to see the sun again. Most likely the kids will leave her alone or actually play with her. I think they understand what they did and probaby would want to make it up. Either way I still don't think Margot will forgive them.
I don't believe that Margot will forgive the other children. However, based on e rest of the story, I think she would have just continued to ignore them. She would only do it more solemnly because she will have to wait another seven year to be reminded of her life on Earth. I also think that the other children feel really bad for locking Margot in a closet while they ran out and enjoyed sunshine/happiness. They will probably try to be nicer to her like offering an apology. But, I don't think that Margot would accept.
Sedona Falco Period 1 I think that Margot is going to be very sad and mad at the kids for what they have done. She has been longing to see the sun for a couple of years now and since she missed it, she has to wait another seven years. The kids in her class are very mean to her and bully her. Margot is probably so mad at her classmates for locking her up and taking the sun away from her. Since she missed it that year, she will dream for it even more than she did before. If I were Margot I would not talk to the kid and make them feel bad for what they did.
Ody 1 I think Margot will be mad at all the kids for putting her in the closet and she will hate them for along time, but then she will finally forget about and forgive all of them
11/20 Angelina R. 4th period I like that you put then Margot will forgive them because that what i put in mine paragraph and I think that you could of added more why she was she mad at the other kids because you did't say why did the kids lock her in the closet and why she was mad at the other kid.
After the way the other children treated Margot, I think that she be mad at them because all she wanted to see was the sun. I think that she will probably not like the children and she will be very upset that she has to wait another seven years to see the sun. Margot will be mostly mad at William because he is the one who decided it would be best to lock Margot in the closet. I think that Margot will try to stand up for herself and make sure that the other children treat her as an equal and not any different.
I agree to what you said and also, I wonder what William was thinking when he wanted to put Margot in the closet. I'm sure he knew she really wanted to see the sun and took that away from her.
Kailtyn H. Period 6 I think Margo will just stay her shy self. I think this because she is to weak and scared to do anything back to them. She knows that if she does something back at them she will get punished again. She will just have to wait another 7 years for the sun to come out. When it does she will have to work up the courage to put them in the closet.
I think when maggot gets let out she wont go out . She will be crying in there. When she final gets out she will tel the teacher. Then she will run to William and kick him in the leg. Then she will run home.
William and the other children were very mean and rude to Margot. If I were Margot, I would either move back to Earth, or treat the children the way they treated me. But in this case, Margot will probably continue to be her normal, shy self. The story doesn’t describe her as emotional, so it wouldn’t make sense for her to actually be mad at them. Reading this story reminded me bullying. William is the bully, Margot was the target, and the other children were just bystanders. The story refers to the other children as scared of William. This story would be a great example of bullying.
I agree with you. This story is an excellent example of a helpless kid being bullied. William and the others didn't believe her about the sun so they were selfish and locked her in a closet.
Alonso 2nd period I think Margot will still act the same ignoring all the kids but she will now be mad at all the kids but especially William because it was his idea to put her in the closet. I also think that she will most likely go to Earth now since she missed a lifetime experience that wont happen in seven more years. I think Margot will also feel sad but she will also probably tell all the kids I told you so.
Sriti D. Period 4 I think that once they let Margot out I think she will stay calm and not say anything. I think this because she didn't physically or verbally respond when William pushed her down. Although I believe she will not externally react but, I think that she will feel very hurt. Also that she will be very sad she missed the sun, and has to wait another 7 years. I think that she would feel left out. I don’t think that she will tell anyone about what happened because she is shy person. Overall, I think that whatever Margot does will be done nicely.
I think Margot will not be all mad on the outside. But on the inside. Margot does not seem like the type of girl that would get in a heated argument with the students for making her miss the sun. But I think she feels a little sick on the inside knowing she missed seeing what she wanted to see so badly. Margot seems like a chill person who wouldn't make a big scene about this situation, I think she would keep to herself and not let her emotions get the best of her.
Tyler 4th period I think that margot will treat them the same but still not talk to them and i think she will be depressed because she wont see the sun for 7 more years. She will be mad at william though because he is the one who had the idea of locking her up. I think that mabe she has a better chance of moving to earth becuase the kids didnt let her see the sun there. In the end the kids did somthin really bad and should appologies a lot for what the y did to margot.
I think Margo will not talk to them at all at the beginning but then she will forgive them little by little because she will understand that they had never seen it since they were 2 years old so they didn't now how it felt or looked and anyways Margo seems like a good kid so I think she will forgive them.
Well, based one the personality of Margot, I know maybe a lot of people wouldn’t agree, but based on her personality I guess that she would just not treat the children badly, like in that fairy tale, Cinderella. The two sisters treated her so bad, but in the end since Cinderella got everything, she still doesn’t treat her sisters bad. So, I think that Margot would treat the kids, maybe try to ask them and try to convince them how being locked is bad, and how you would like it if somebody locked you, or people didn’t agree with you being different. I think Margot would try hard to change the children’s personality. And if that doesn’t work she would get an adult to help so that all the children can know being different is ok. And that you shouldn’t bully just because of what the person says, if there’s something bothering you, just tell a trusted adult. That’s what I think that’s how she would treat the kids.
I think that Margot will stay sad and shy. I think this because she was the one who wanted to see the sun most and she got upset when people didn't believe her about the sun. She will probably keep her sadness and anger inside though. She might show her sadness but not talk to people about it. I hope that after the other kids say the sun they will be nicer to her.
Max Pluta Mrs. Diamond Period 8 11/20/13 I think that Margot will be frustrated with her class, but she will not show her frustration because she is very shy and doesn't speak a lot. For example, she doesn’t like engaging in class and never has her own opinions that she shares. So she will not show it and she will have to wait another seven years. I think the class will be a lot nicer to her because they knew she wanted to see the sun. She wrote poems about the sun and how much she cared about it. Overall, her class will be nicer to her but she will be in a bad mood all the time because she has to wait another 7 years.
I think Margot will be very mad at her classmates and she ask her parents to move back to Earth. If she doesn’t then I think that she will never even talk at all to her classmates or her teacher. Like she was bullied, I think she will start to be a bully to the other kids. Or, based on her personality she would just sit there and think to herself how mean the kids were to her. If she did get to see the sun, she might have participated more and be happy in class. I also realized the teacher was completely oblivious to what her class did to Margot.
Nathan Zachar 6th Hour I have two predictions on Margot's reaction. Either she will not care or she will absolutely rage. My explanation is that she misses the sun so much she will fight the others for the reason that they deprived her of seeing the sun that year. My other explanation is that she won’t care because it seems she doesn’t have the best self-esteem and will not do a thing.
Margot will be very depressed and will feel really mad at the other children. I think that she wont let them get near her, and that she will become more socially awkward. Her grade will go down because all she thinks about is how she missed the Sun and that she has to wait 7 more years.

Katya,
DeleteI love your first sentence. I think she will become more silent and withdrawn, too. I also agree that the kids will not bully her any more, but I don't know if this will matter to her at this point. I feel like the damage is already done--not repairable.
Mrs. D
Katya,
DeleteIn a perfect world the bully would try to comfort her but im sorry to say i dont think that is possible.

ReplyDeleteI think Margot will treat the other children worse.

Daniel,
DeleteI never even thought to think about the teacher.

I think that Margot will try to prove them wrong once again about the sun.

I think she will get upset and want to be alone while storming out of the room.

I think Margot will act coldly to them and become even more reclusive than before. She might start to stop willingly participate in class and would speak even less than before. She would also be very upset and would probably spend the next few minutes crying and or looking shocked. The kids may lay off her a bit, considering they locked her in the closet. The kids also probably feel really bad for her now.
I agree with you almost entirely. I don't believe though she'll act coldly to them.

I think she will be upset and she will no longer talk about anything at all.
DeleteI agree with you, Margot will probably ignore everyone even more. The other children might be a little bit more nicer. Her parents will probably take her home

I believe that Margot will try to get as far away from the kids as possible. She will probably be completely anti-social. Maybe when she is 21 she will start talking again.

I think that Margot will be devastated, not talk to them at all, and be even more silent.

DeleteI agree completely with you response.

I think Margot will be mad at the children (especially William) because the little kids got to enjoy the Sun while Margot was locked up in the closet. Although she didn't get to see the Sun and won't see it for the next seven years, she lived on Earth when she was four, and the others are jealous that she got to see the Sun when she was on Earth.

I think that it would fit better if Margot would stay quiet for the rest of her life, and never talk to anyone except who she trusts.
Patrick,

After the children let Margot out of the closet I think her reaction maybe sadness and anger.

I think Margot will be mad but also take into consideration that she has seen the sun more than they will in a lifetime.I still think Margot will be mad and it will take her long to forgive but those mean and selfish kids now know how it feel to be in the sun and how awesome it is. Margot feels happy that they know how the sun is.
You put something out there that is completely different from anybody else. You think she'll be mad which happens to be true with most of the people's thoughts but you think that Margot feels happy that they know what the sun is like. I didn't think of that but now I think you might be right.

Margot would feel sad because she move from Earth to Venus an the sun only comes out for a couple hours every 7 years.

She will probably be very mad because she was very persistent in the fact the sun was coming out that day, and nobody would believe her. Yet she was the one that didn't get to see the sun. She will probably be really disappointed in her classmates. I think her classmates will respect her a little more.

I think that Margot will be very mad at the other kids because they got to enjoy the sunlight for an hour while Margot was locked in the closet for no reason.

I think that Margot will be treated very differently now that she missed the sun.

I agree that Margot would take the passive approach with her peers. I don't think her anger would be outward.

I believe that Margot will barely will ever trust the children for a long time, due to how Margot waited and waited almost a huge chunk of her life. Margot is most likely not going to tell the teacher anything about the students heinous prank. Since Margot is a silent, quiet girl she might have trouble to also communicate properly to others. I also feel that Margot has trouble debating and fitting in smooth and easy with the other students.

I think that Margot is going to be very sad and mad at the kids for what they have done.
Sedona,
DeleteI agree with you. I love your use of words. Especially the word longing. Good job!

DeleteI agree to what you said and also, I wonder what William was thinking when he wanted to put Margot in the closet. I'm sure he knew she really wanted to see the sun and took that away from her.

I think Margo will just stay her shy self. I think this because she is to weak and scared to do anything back to them. She knows that if she does something back at them she will get punished again. She will just have to wait another 7 years for the sun to come out. When it does she will have to work up the courage to put them in the closet.

ReplyDeleteI think when maggot gets let out she wont go out . She will be crying in there. When she final gets out she will tel the teacher. Then she will run to William and kick him in the leg. Then she will run home.
Margot* and I agree with you.
DeleteI agree with what you said but maybe next time you could try and elaborate more. Also, you might want to add a little more details.

This story would be a great example of bullying.
i agree and they should apolagies but that wont make her be able to see the sun again
DeleteI agree with you. This story is an excellent example of a helpless kid being bullied. William and the others didn't believe her about the sun so they were selfish and locked her in a closet.

ReplyDeleteI think Margot will still act the same ignoring all the kids but she will now be mad at all the kids but especially William because it was his idea to put her in the closet. I also think that she will most likely go to Earth now since she missed a lifetime experience that wont happen in seven more years. I think Margot will also feel sad but she will also probably tell all the kids I told you so.

I think that once they let Margot out I think she will stay calm and not say anything.

ReplyDeleteI think Margot will not be all mad on the outside.

ReplyDeleteI think that margot will treat them the same but still not talk to them and i think she will be depressed because she wont see the sun for 7 more years.

I think that Margot will be frustrated with her class, but she will not show her frustration because she is very shy and doesn't speak a lot.

I have two predictions on Margot's reaction.
