Title of book and author. What page are you currently on in your book? Imagine you and the main character(s) are going out to lunch? Where would you go to eat? What would you talk about? Are there questions you'd like to ask the main character(s)? Advice you'd like to give him/her/them?

I am reading the book "Allegiant" by Veronica Roth. I am on page 126 in this book. If I were to go to lunch with Tobias and Tris, I would go to Jimmy Johns. I would ask them what it was like being in the different factions and ask them what strategies they used to get through the hard times. I think that the advice I would give them, is to always stick with each other because they both seem to do well with one another.
What made you pick JJ?

I am currently on page 144. Bella Swan and I are going out to lunch at Starbucks. I would talk about Edward and Jacob. I would ask Bella if she is scared of Edward and his family, or if she would rather be with Jacob that Edward. I would tell her to be careful because Edward IS a vampire!
Did you pick Starbucks because it is a company that started near the setting of the book?

I am currently reading the book "Out of My Mind" by:Sharon M. Draper. I am on page 68 in my book. If the main character and I were going out to lunch, we would probably go to Cooper's Hawk. I think we would talk about what life is like for no one to understand you or what you are saying. A question that I would ask the main character is eventually do you think life will get easier and people will finally understand you? Some advice I would give the main character is people will understand you at some point in the future, just give it a little time.
That is a good choice for a lunch date! I also like the advice you would give to the character--very mature.

The title of my book is Never Mind! by Rachel Vail. Currently I am on page 179 out of 200. If I were to have lunch with the main characters I would probably take them to a culvers. I would talk to them about how they are going to get out of their tangle of lies that have been strung up and maybe give them some ideas of my own on how to get out. Maybe even give them some advice on what to do next.
Do you think they should take the honorable way out and just tell the truth?

The book I am currently reading is "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth. I am currently on page 207. If the main character and I were going out to lunch we would probably go to Panera Bread. We would talk about the simulation serum and try to figure out how it works, and why the Erudite wants the divergents. The question that I would the main character is why she choose the Dauntless. The advice that I would give to her would be to marry Tobias.
I think I'd want to discuss her choice as well.

I would ask the main characters Mark Dimond, Bobby Pendragon, and Courtney Chewtnyde how they feel about people reading about them. I would give them advice to start talking to Bobby face to face more.

I am currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. I am on page 377. If I were to have lunch with the main characters of this story, then I would probably take them to McDonald's are some other fast food place, just because their reaction to it would be hilarious. We would probably talk about a wide range of things from Bilbo and the Shire, to Mirkwood, Lothlorien, and Rivendell. I would probably ask one of the main characters to describe Middle-Earth in better detail or maybe just parts of it. The only advice I could give to the main characters is be careful and not die.
It would be funny to see the characters from this book at a fast food restaurant! I wonder if they would like the food...hmmm?
DeleteI am reading the book I am page 132. If I went to lunch with my character I would ask him to show me some of his superpowers. We would go to Chipotle. I would get a burrito. I am reading Divergent by Veronica Roth. I am on page 51. If I could go out to lunch with Tris we might go to Starbucks. I would like to talk about how the government changed to where when you have to pick a faction when you turn sixteen. Why did to change? who did it? when did it happen? I would like to tell her that if she tries to fit in with the Dauntless and doesn't tell anyone she is Divergent she might be able to make it through.
Make sure you edit before you publish your post. I like the questions you'd ask! I would be interested to know what she'd say :)

I am currently reading The Raven by Patrick Carman. I am currently on page 204. We would probably go to a haunted house or like a haunted festival or something. We would probably go to Anthony's fine dining place. We would talk about the place because it's HAUNTED. I would ask how do you survive the places you visit and how do you even dare to visit those places with Sarah? I would give them advice on how to be safe and how to be better at being safe and how to see if the places they visit are safe.

I am reading the book Wonder by R.J Palacia. I am on the page 110. I were going to lunch with the main character, Augustus, I would go to Parana Bread. We would probably talk about Star Wars Movies because Augustus is obsessed with it. I don't think that I would ask him what it feels like to always be stared at because that might make him feel uncomfortable. I would ask him what his favorite class is in his new school that he is going to. I would tell Augustus to stay strong and try to ignore what people are saying about his face.
I like your choice of restaurant. Also, I like that you'd be encouraging towards him. I think he could use it!

Today I started a new book called The Old Willis Place, which is written by Mary Downing Hahn. If I could go to lunch with Mary, we would go to Red Robin. Lastly, I would like to talk about who she dedicates her writing to!

I am reading the book Replies Be live It or Not. Its okay but the only part I don't like are all of the gross ones. The reason is because i don't like any of that stuff. All of the other facts are good but I don't understand why would some people do some of that stuff just to get into a book. But overall its good.

I read “The Running Dream” by Wendelin Van Draanen and I have finished the book. If I were to go out to lunch with Jessica, Fiona, and Gavin, I would choose Jimmy John’s. I think we’d talk about running and how no one gave up for Jessica and her dream. I would ask the main characters how good it felt when the fundraiser was way over the twenty thousand dollars they raised. I would also ask if it was easy switching legs and how she started walking and running again.

I am still reading the book Jabba the Puppet by Tom Angleberger. I am on page 64 and things are starting to get real. So in my last post I said that the gang is trying to get rid of Funtime, so they wrote a letter to their principal Ms.Rabiski basically saying that the school should get rid of funtime or else all the people in the gang will all fail MAPS testing. What happened was they all went to the principals office to talk and Rabiski said if you fail the testing they will not move on to the next grade they will be held back. That basically ended the whole plan but origami yoda scheduled a meeting about another plan.

ReplyDeleteI just finished the book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. The main character's name is Greg Heffley, and he has 2 brothers, so he has a busy life. So in that case, I would go to a fancy restaurant for lunch with him, so that he wouldn't get distracted with other kids and be in a peaceful place, where Greg likes. I would ask him how life is having a younger and an older sibling, because I am an only child. I would give him advice to don't give up because you have siblings, do your best and don't let them distract you.
Why a fancy restaurant? Do you think the main character would prefer this over some place casual?

He enterd a funny kid comic and he won but his brother is making blogs saying that the judges just felt bad that he is in a wheel chair. Now he moved on to the second event after wanting to quit telling jokes because his family didn't understand them. There is a very mean boy at the second event saying jokes about how he is cripple and there are a bunch of show offs there. Jamie just tries to ignore the people at the contest and tall his freinds and family are there even his teachers and principle.

I am reading the book Ranger's Apprentice:Ruins of Gorlan. I am currently on page 144. If I had to go out Will for lunch, I would go to a buffet place with him because he doesn't get to eat a lot with his job as a ranger's apprentice. I would ask him how being a ranger' apprentice is. Hard, tiring, exhausting, or maybe enjoyable. Some advice that I would give him is to listen to every didactic skill that Halt teaches him. Just now he was part of a group that killed two wild boars. If Halt hadn't taught him the proper skills to kill a boar, he would have most probably died.

I am reading 13 Gifts, by Wendy Mass. I am on page 76. In this book, the main character is a graduating 7th grade girl named Tara Brennan. She got into some serious trouble at school, and now her parents are forcing her to spend the whole entire summer with her aunt, uncle, and her strange cousin, Emily-- who she barely knows! If I were eating lunch with Tara, we would probably go to a fast food place, considering her personality-- a rebellious, child-like girl. I would ask Tara a question like, "When you got to your relative's house, what was your reaction?" In the book, when Tara gets there, the house she expects is super small, but instead, she gets an enormous mansion with way to many rooms to count. Also, we might talk about the things we like and dislike about being 7th grade, because that is basically the only thing we might have in common. Some advice I would give her is not to judge a book by its cover. I would tell her this because even though Willow Falls (the place she is staying) may seem strange, along with the people who live there, there may be more to it than meets the eye. You just have to get to know the place and people first, before you make conclusions.
Why a fast food place? Which fast food place?

ReplyDeleteI currently just finished reading my last book and now I’m reading Journey To the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne. I’m on page 34, and so far the book is a little slow. If I went out to lunch with the main character I would probably go to a steakhouse. So far my story is about how him and his uncle find out some words in Latin, and they are trying to find out what it means, so I would ask him are you going to go to the center of the earth. They finally figure it out and it means that has to do with going on an adventure, but it also says that it is really dangerous and that everybody who tried going to the center died. I would ask him what are you trying to find, and what is the purpose of it? When I was reading the story I didn’t get what they were choosing to do. Those would be my main questions.

I am reading the book Wonder by R.J. Polacio.I am on page 107. I would go to McDonalds with August and Via who are the main characters. I would talk about how there life's are changing because of them starting school and going to separate schools. I would ask them why are you guys going to separate schools? I would give some advice saying to them that August will be fine in school.
McDonald's seems like a good choice. Do you think August would want to go out with you and be in public?

I am reading the book, The Selection, by Kiera Cass. I am on page 65. If I went to lunch with America, I would go to a fast food place because she will get to be fancy at the palace. So, I would like to show her what life is like outside of the palace. I will be showing her what she will be missing. I would talk to America about how it feels to be apart of the Selection, and how she feels about the Selection. Also, I have a few questions that I would ask America. I would ask her about how she feels about Prince Maxon?, and if she now wants to be in the Selection? Also, I would tell her to be herself in front of Prince Maxon.
Yes, I think talking to America would be interesting. I'd like to ask her the same things. I think she'd like a casual place to dine, too.

The book I am currently reading is The Princess and The Pauper by Kate Brian. I am currently on page 34. I would go eat at The Lucky Monk. I would talk about how each character’s life is and how they feel it is and how The Princess loves The Pauper’s life and the other way around. I would also talk about how they are the half and half of me because I love to dress up and I am told I act like a princess ( not in the good way) and I also love to just be myself and dress casual or frumpy. The Princess and The Pauper also describe me and my sister. She is the Pauper most of the time and I am the “Princess”. I would tell them that even though you live separate lives, they should maybe share their life together and see why they look alike but they aren’t in the same family or in the same life style.
I don't know this restaurant? Where is it? What is good? I love the comparison to you and your sister :)

I am currently reading the book Quit it by Marcia Byalick. I am on page 45. If I could go anywhere with my main character Carrie I would probably go to some place that's quiet maybe Panera bread. The reason that I would go somewhere quiet would be so Carrie wouldn't think about what is “wrong” with her. One question that I would ask her would probably be How do you go day by day trying to blend in with everyone else? Also what is the hardest part about having tics and tourette? Mostly we would talk about just everyday things like what do you do in your free time so she can be relaxed. Finally one piece of advice I would give her would be don’t let what people say get to you.
Why would a loud place make her feel like there is something wrong with her?

The book I am reading is titled Operation YES and the author for that book is Sara Lewis Holmes. The page I am currently on is 59. The main character in the book Is Bo, and we would go eat maybe at Cafe Lou Lou. We would talk about how it’s going with Bo and his teacher in his school, and how’s the acting and theatre is going on in the teacher’s classroom. I would ask why he is so interesting in doing theatre acting with his teacher. And advice I would give him is don’t be so embarrassed with yourself, just go with the flow.
Why kind of restaurant is Cafe Lou Lou? Is it a fave of yours?

I am reading a book called My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris. I am on page 63. If I went out to lunch with the main character in my book (Patience Angeli, I would probably go to somewhere simple, not too elegant like Noodles and Company. We would probably talk about girly stuff because she is kind of a girly girl. I would ask her what it was like in the sixteenth century. I would ask her how she lived in the sixteenth century without air conditioning. I would also ask her what it is like to be sixteen and drive. The advice that I would give Patience is to not go into random stranger’s houses or tents because the last time she did that, she ended up in the sixteenth century. I would also tell her to be herself.
So, you'd opt for a casual dining experience. I like the idea of a casual dinner with good conversation :)

My book is called Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimate's. The author of this book is Mark Miller. I am on page is 25. I would take the avengers to panda express because that is my favorite restaurant. The thing I would talk to the avengers about is if I can become a new avenger. I would ask Ironman for an Ironman suit. The only advice I would give is to show no mercy.
What do think the character's fave restaurant would be?

I am reading the book Smile by Raina Telgemeier. I am on page 180 out of 214. If I went out to lunch with the characters we would go to some soup place because Raina has braces so she can’t eat many hard things. I will also ask Raina how hard it is to have to go through so much teeth work and many other terrible hard things to get through such as an earthquake. Also having a major crush on a guy that has absolutely no interest in her, and finally I would giver her advice to be herself and if he didn’t like her for that then he wasn’t worth it.
I love that you'd be considerate of the fact that Raina has braces and take her out for soup. Good idea!

An Abundance Of Katherines
I am on page 159. I would go to Taco Bell with Colin because they mention Taco Bell a lot in the book and they go and eat there. I would talk about his theorem and him being a prodigy. I would ask him how it is to be a prodigy, and what gave him the idea to make that theorem. For advice I would tell him to not just date girls name Katherine and girls with other names.
Taco Bell makes me think of Ms. Gaier. She loves that place. Perhaps I should suggest this book to her because it is mentioned so much :)

I am reading Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I am on page 48, chapter 2. I don’t know anywhere to eat in his town, but maybe at any local restaurant. Jacob believes he saw his grandpa getting killed by monsters, but his friend who was there claimed they were dogs. I would ask him if his grandfather had any friends. Maybe there is someone who can explain this to him. I would tell him to ask his parents to take him to the place in his grandpa’s stories.
You misunderstood the prompt. I wanted you to pick a restaurant you like. It didn't have to be from the book.

Title of book and author. What page are you currently on in your book? Imagine you and the main character(s) are going out to lunch? Where would you go to eat? What would you talk about? Are there questions you'd like to ask the main character(s)? Advice you'd like to give him/her/them?
My book is called The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I am on page 29 or chapter 3. We would go out to lunch at a restaurant on the boardwalk in Georgia. We would talk about her Dad, and her little brother Jonah. Why dont you want to spend time with your dad this summer? I think you should talk to your dad about what is on your mind.
The boardwalk in Georgia sound lovely!

The book I'm reading is Percy and the Battle of the Labyrinth. The author is Rick Riordan and I'm on page 73. If I was having lunch with Percy Jackson the main character we would probably have lunch at Wendy's. I would talk about how his quest was and if it is hard being a demi-god. The question I would ask is Do you enjoyed going on dangerous quest? I will tell Percy to be careful and always be aware of your surroundings.
I like that you'd take him to Wendy's. Is there a reason for this?

I am reading Rules for Secret Keeping by Lauren Barnholdt. I am on page 111. If I was going out to lunch with the main characters I would ask them if they would want to go to the Onion Pub because I love that place. I would talk to them about the book and about their families. I would ask Samantha and Jake about their feelings for each other. How their business with secrets is going. I would tell them to keep following their dreams.
Onion Pub is a good choice. I like that you said you ask Samantha and Jack first and didn't make the lunch decision on your own. You are so considerate!

I am currently reading the book, Middle School Worst Years of my Life written by James Patterson. If I went to lunch with Rafe, I would go to the Cheesecake Factory because he likes pie and cake. I talk about why he keeps talking to Leo if he is a bad influence. I would also say that the "game" he is playing is really stupid. I would say that being bad is not the only way to make things fun.
I don't remember him liking pies and cakes...hmmm?

The book I was reading in class today was Thirteen Days to Midnight, by Patrick Carman. I just finished this book today in class. If I went out to lunch with Jacob, we would probably go to a breakfast place. I would ask him what it’s like to have a gift, much less a curse. I would advise him to not give the curse to anyone else because it’s just going to turn out badly like with Ophelia.
Yum! Breakfast is my favorite meal to go out and eat. Where do you think you'd take him?

Currently I am reading Zach Lie by Ronald Smith. I am on page 15. I haven’t gotten far in the book yet but I know that the main character is Zach and he is living with his family. Jack lives in Elkton, Navada up in the mountains. But then a tragic event occurs, men with mask come in and break into their home. I haven’t read far enough to understand why they broke into the home. If I went out to dinner with Zach we would go to Chucky Cheese's. I would ask Zach does he know why these men broke into their home? If not, does he have any clues?
Why Chucky Cheese? I am thinking you may want some place quieter since you want to talk.

The book that I am reading is Peter and the Star Catchers. So far I am on page 120. If I could choose one place to take the main character I would take him to Buffalo Wild Wings. I think that we would talk about what his life is like being an orphan. I think we would also talk about his orphanage where he used to live. Yes one question that I would like to ask is what is it like being an orphan. I would also ask him what it is like on the ship the Never Land. Some advice that I would like to give him is to not get in trouble or try to run away.
I love Buffalo Wild Wings! Good choice :) I wonder if he'd open up and tell you what it was really like to be an orphan or if it would be hard for him to talk about...hmmm?

I chose chapter. During chapter 6 Tom didn't want to go to bed, so he decided to fake an injury, he pretended his leg was hurt so he wouldn't have to go to school but his aunt wasn't fooled. But he probably thought that after that he could get away with staying home with his loose tooth, but sadly his aunt pulled it out. On the way to school he saw Huckleberry Fin, a boy his age that he likes to talk to. When he was with Huckleberry they were talking about how to get warts off, Tom wanted to trade things that Huckleberry Fin had, which was a dead cat and a tick. So he traded his tooth for a tick, probably thinking that a tick was more interesting. When Tom got to school he was late so he had to sit in the girls section. The only seat open was the seat next to Becky Thacher, Tom's crush, so he was happy about that. Tom tried to give her a peach, to impress her, but she rejected it, and after lots of placing it back and forth, she let it stay there. Then Tom started to draw, not showing Becky so that she would be interested, and after a while she was, she wanted Tom to teach her how to draw so he agreed. After Tom was drawing "I love you" on it Becky wanted to see it, so after she did so did the class, and he was embarrassed. After he couldn't wait til noon so that he could teach Becky.
