I am currently reading the book Bud, Not Buddy. The author of this book is Christopher Paul Curtis. I am Currently on page 7 so far. So things that have happened in this book would be that bud and his friend Jerry have now moved into foster care homes to live with people because there is depression going like, people cant get jobs. I am thinking that this book is about the great depression or someone doesn't have a family. I would recommend this book to people because it's very emotional and has a lot of very good detail.

I am reading "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer. I am on page 247 and I am liking the book a lot so far. I am reading this book as a book club book with my friends Hannah and Kaleigh becaause we liked the idea. The book is about a boy who is a clone of an old man. Hed did not know until a few chapters ago that the man made a clone of himself so that if he ever got sick he could use the organs and body parts of his clone to stay alive. This book is very weird but it is also kind of interesting.

The dauntless person, Tori, who is performing/watching Beatrice take the test realizes that the test didn’t work on Beatrice therefore making her divergent. I think that Divergent the book is going to be a little different from the movie version. In addition, I think that the book is going to have some scenes in it that the movie doesn’t include. For starts, the book is written in a very different perspective. I had to read several pages into the book before I realized that it was written in the perspective of Death itself. I found this very intriguing, since I have never read a book similar to this. The book takes place during World War II in Nazi Germany. Liesel, the main character, has just encountered the death of her younger brother. At the sight of his grave, she discovers a book that is hidden in the snow. This book is about a woman who got lost in a crowd at a train station and her family that is selfish. Her family recalls moments in their lives where the woman (The one who got lost) has been more than grateful and very caring towards her family. This book talks about what the woman has done for her family and how ungrateful they were towards her. This is not the full story, but this is the main topic. So far I really am enjoying this book because I already know what the lesson is in this book, be grateful for what you have now and care for the ones who love you the most. I would recommend this book, but it may be confusing at times like you may not know who's narrating at the moment. And also it can be confusing because this book's setting is in South, Korea so some of the locations in the book might be strange or unknown to some people. But overall I really love this book! I am currently reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I am on page 28 because I just started 2 days ago. Because I am so early in the book, I still think it’s very good. I would recommend it to others who like realistic tragedy.

I am currently reading Dragon Eye Reborn, but I can't remember who the author is. I am on page 50. My book is about a girl who cross dresses as a guy and has a bad leg. She cross dresses because woman are thought to be not intelligent enough. To become a Dragon Eye their is a special power you get at birth to see the dragon of that year and maybe all of them. She is trying to be a Dragon Eye to the Rat Dragon (Chinese year calendar) or will be sold to a salt farm and her master will be in trouble/poor. She is currently taking the test. I recommend this to anyone who likes dragons or stuff about the Chinese calendar.

I am currently reading The False Prince, which is written by Jennifer Nielsen. This book is one of next year's Caudill Nominees. I have already read 5, and I am working on the 6th. I just started it so I haven't gotten very far, but so far the plot is interesting. A guy named Connor has set out to find a group of young gentlemen. I am at the part where he is proposing something very lucritive and he even kills a boy! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves an adventure...

Although I already saw the movie of it, I am reading the book Divergent. The author of the book is obviously Veronica Roth. Since I am reading online I don't know what page I am on, but I am on % of the book. I don't want to spoil the book since I already know what it's about, but it is about a girl named Tris that has to choose a faction out of five. I can't say what faction she chose and what it's like, but she goes on epic adventures throughout her life, meeting more friends and getting into trouble. I would recommend this book to anyone because this book is just amazing.

  68. My independent reading this year has been ok. Not good but not bad. I am a very picky reader and I play three different sports so I have a lot of time consumed and not a lot to give to my independent reading. i do finish about one novel per month. it is usually a sports fiction book because those books are the ones I can connect to the best. But I guess every year I am becoming a better reader and it is helping my English grade in class.

The book that I am currently reading is wonder. The book is written by RJ Palacio. I have just started the book so I am only on page 15. Since I have not read a lot I do not know much about the book but from what I have read it is a very interesting book. It teaches you not to judge others by how they look. I would definitely recommend this book to another person.

I am reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. I am on chapter 11. The main character is Bruno who is an eight year old boy. It is 1942 in Nazi Germany, and Bruno’s father is a Nazi officer. They have been moving around Germany wherever the war requires his father. They lived in Berlin, and they have moved to a new home in a place called “out-with”. Bruno is exploring the new area, and he discovers a large fence with people all dressed in pajamas. When he sees everyone has a number on their arm he thinks they are all playing a game. He makes a friend across the fence and the spend time together. This book is very good and I would recommend it to anyone that likes historical fiction.

I am reading The Fault in our Stars by John Green. Since I'm reading it on my kindle I don't know what page I'm on but I just got to chapter 4. This book is about a girl who has cancer and meets this boy. So far thats all I know. I really like it, its cute and i like the main character, Hazel. Even tho she's all depressed and unwilling. She has this thing about her that just makes me smile. I can understand why she is all depressed and if I was going through the same thing she is going through I think I would be too. There are these little things in the book that make me feel like theres hope. I do think that I would recommend it to others. Its super sweet and if your a sucker for love stories you would definitely like it.
