After learning that Gabriel is to be released the next morning, Jonas realizes he must escape from his community with him as soon as possible.  Imagine you are Jonas.  Explain why you are running away from the community.  Describe your planned destination.  Tell what you hope to find in this new place and what your plans are for your future.

You have been asked by the government to develop an ideal society (Utopian).  In this society, all members must be equal.  Racism, violence, crime, homelessness, poverty, divorce, and hunger cannot exist.  Choose three problems to remove from society and explain how you'd remove the problems.  Will you change laws?  How can you contribute to making society a perfect place?

The Giver--Blog Prompt 1D

Once Jonas is selected as the next Receiver of Memory, his training begins.  This training involves listening carefully as The Giver shares memories of the world from back and back and back.  Each memory The Giver shares leaves a profound impression on Jonas.

Recall a memory from your life that left a deep impression on you or that affected you in some way.  Tell us about the memory, and then decide how your life would be different if you did not have this memory.
