I'm reading the book Rules by Cynthia Lord. Rules takes place present day in the summer. The characters in Rules are David, Catherine, Jason, Mom, and Dad. The problem in this book is that Catherine just wants to have a normal life, but she can't because her brother David has Autism. At first it was a little bit boring but now I really like it! I can relate to the book at times because my sister GiGi has Down syndrome.
I love when I can personally connect to books. It helps me to feel like there are others out there feeling the same way I do or experiencing similar things in their life. Did you start reading this because of our in class presentations about the our summer books?
The book I read was Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson. It was about a girl named Ashley who hates the idea of prom. The characters are her best friend Nat, her mom, her dad, her 3 little brothers, her friends Monica, Lauren, Aisha and Junie, her boyfriend T.J. and Mrs. Crane. There are many more minor characters but those are the main ones. The problem in the story is Mrs. Crane, Ashley's math teacher, stole all the prom money and now the prom committee is left with almost nothing. At first I did not like the main character, Ashley but eventually she grew on me the more I read and overall, the book was really good.
The book that I am currently reading is A Tale Dark & Grimm By: Adam Gidwitz. The setting is in Grimm forest and The Grimm Kingdom. The Characters are Hansel and Gretel. They both escape from home and out to the forest. There is a baker woman who eats children, there is the king and the queen who cut there children's heads off, and there is also a dragon and three black ravens who can tell the future. The problem is that Hansel and Gretel have to kill the dragon. IN my opinion I really enjoy this book so far. It has a lot of action, excitement, and the author writes a lot of funny clues/comments during the chapters/stories. I would recommend this book to someone who doesn't get nightmares from reading or someone who likes bloody and disgusting books.
The tequila worm by viola canales is about a girl named Sofia who has been asked to go to a boarding school in Austin Texas. She is deciding with her family whether or not to go. The "small" boarding fee is of 400 dollars. Sofia comes from a poor family. She has a sister named Lucy who she loves to her heart and who she does not wanna leave alone while Sofia is at boarding school.
I think that this book is pretty good, it has a lot of humor that people can relate to. At some parts it is very gross, Sofia and her father both eat a worm that has been soaked in tequila. This is supposedly to cure homesickness
My mom just bought me this book it's called "Nancy Drew #12 Stop the Clock" Nancy Drew is a very nice detective that solves mysteries with her best friends George and Bess. Bess is a fashonista and an inventor. George (Georgina) is great with computers and loves sports. When they get to the library the very expensive clock is stolen!!!! (I LOVE mysteries)
Cassia and Ky are the main characters of this book. The setting is in the future of the outer provinces where Cassia and Ky are both living. The problem in the story is that Ky was taken away to fight in the war and Cassia wants to find him, but she must survive the journey first. Cassia and Indie (a girl from camp), are traveling through many canyons to find their way to Ky. But Ky is doing the same along with his soldier friends. I don't really like the book crossed so far, because it did not keep me interested. I think I didn't like it, because of the narration. I did not like how each chapter switches off with Cassia and Ky's perspectives. Overall I did not like this book at all, but the story might interest others.
This book takes place in Wilderland. The main characters are Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the grey, Thorin of the dwarves, and then the rest of the dwarven company. The problem in this book is that Thorin the true air to a great dwarven kingdom is homeless. A dragon named Smaug raided their mountain and stole all of their treasure leaving many dwarves homeless. Bilbo has been hired as a burglar to help the dwarves get back their home at "The Lonely Mountain". I think this book is very good in the terms of a storyline. This book needs a little bit more suspense. I kinda have to hope for something really exiting like a twist or cliffhanger. That's what it really needs.
I admire you for continuing to read this book even though you are finding parts of it not to your liking. In the end, I do think you'll end up liking it. I am very impressed with the amount of reading you are doing. Keep it up!
I'm reading "Sky Pirates of Neo Terra" by Wagner D'errico Megaw. The characters are Billy, a boy who is the champion Glidewing rider for the Grassland Tribe. Suma, a girl learning how to use crystals to help others. Ricket, a boy who is a mechanics son and learning how to be one himself, also best friends with Billy. Rena, a hot headed girl who is very competitive, and stubborn. Lastly, Wurl, a wolf who defends everybody else but himself. They all simply want to save Ricket's dad and also Billy want's to beat the Pirate King also known as the champion of the Glidewing races.
Jacobo S. period 1 my book is "39 Clues the Sword Thief" by Peter Lerangis. the main characters are Dan, Amy, Alistair, Ian, and Natalie. They need to find the 39 clues in Japan and Korea. My opinion on the book is that it is pretty good for someone who likes mystery.
This book has many characters, but Jace, Clary, Isabelle, Alec, Luke, Simon, and Magnus are the main characters in this story. The problem in this story is Jace is being accused of helping his (and Clary's) evil father, Valentine Morgenstern. And during this, Downworlders (werewolves, demons, faeries, vampires, etc.) are being mysteriously killed and drained of blood. Vampires are blamed, but the real killers are even more sinister. My opinion of this book is that it is the perfect combination of romance, action, comedy, suspense, and the supernatural. It draws you in, and it keeps you going to the very end.
I am reading the book The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. The characters are Hugo, Isabelle, and Isabelle's grandparents. This book takes place in the past in the city of Paris. The problem of this book is when Hugo's father dies, he moves in with his uncle to help fix the clocks. Hugo keeps his dad's sketch book and that is were his troubles begin. At the beginning of this book it was pretty boring but then it got better. It got better because soon as I got more into the book, it got more suspenseful.
Ricky.G Ryan’s Journal by Patrick Carman. This book takes place in Skeleton Creek,Oregon and it is past tense. The characters are Ryan,Sarah,Ryan’s parents, and Old Joe Bush. This book is full of problems but the biggest problem is, is Old Joe Bush alive and working the dredge were he was last seen but he died there well it looked like it. In my opinion this is a great book and I don't say that a lot about books. This book is a fast paced mystery that just keeps you on your toes. This is a must read.
The book I’m reading is “Breaking Stalin’s Nose” by Eugene Yelchin. This story takes place in Moscow and the time is not given, but is over the course of two days.. The main character is Sasha Zaichik, and the problem is that her dad who is a state detective gets arrested but he does nothing wrong. She realizes that their neighbor who is poor with a big family wants that house and arresting Sasha’s dad was the way to get the bigger room. My opinion of this book is that it is an interesting book and caught my attention from the first word. This book is interesting to me because it is historical fiction and I like to learn about history.
The book I am currently reading is " Tuck Everlasting " by: Natalie Babbitt. What has happened so far in the book is in the morning Winnie Foster goes out to the wood to explore when see meets a boy there drinking water. She has never seen him before, and wonders why he is on her property and wants to know who he is. I think this book is very good because it keeps my attention. For example, in the prologue it states, " Fixed points they are, and best left undisturbed, for without them, nothing holds together. But sometimes people find this out too late." This made me want to keep reading to find out what this statement meant.
My book is Schooled by Gordon Korman. Schooled is about a young "hippie" named Cap that starts going to school after his Grandmother fell out of a tree and had to send Cap away for a little bit. I don't really have many thoughts on my book yet. It's okay and it is interesting but I can't decide if I'm liking it.Cap is an interesting character and does have you wondering what's gonna happen next but i don't know if this book is keeping me at the edge of my seat. Cap has a lot of things thrown his way but handles them find, its really predictable what's gonna happen whenever something happens.

I am reading "When you reach me" by Rebecca Stead. When you reach me takes place in a small town average school average everything. We have Miranda who is friends with a boy named Sal. One day Sal gets punched walking home from school this somehow tears their friendship. This leads Miranda to meet a girl named Annmarie who had a friend split also. Soon after she meets the boy who punched Sal whose name is Marcus, he seems kind of odd but Miranda gets over that and the fact that he punched Sal. The main problem is that Miranda and her mom live alone in a small apartment and her mom is going on a t.v. show. Miranda’s mom needs to win the money for them so they really have to practice and get it right. My opinion of the book is that its way to slow. I'm ⅔ through the book and this is most of my knowledge of it. This book should have picked up speed about 100 pages ago. For anyone out there like me who likes a little action this book is a bummer.
This does not seem like a book that you would normally read. I don't remember you reading books like this last year. Is this your normal genre? If not, I am proud of you for trying a new genre!
Skeleton Creek Ryan’s Journal is by Patrick Carman. The book Skeleton Creek takes place in Skeleton Creek Oregon in the past/present. The books talks about past because the main character Ryan writes in his journal about everything that happened to him and his friend Sarah. The book also talks about the present because it explains what is happening to Ryan right now and how he has been investigating really weird things. The characters in the book are Ryan, Sarah, Ryan’s parents, Old Joe Bush. The problem is the book is that Old Joe Bush is alive and is working on the dredge where he was last seen. The dredge is where he died, but it’s doesn't seem that he died. The book was pretty confusing at first because it talks about these weird mysterious which don’t make any sense, but throughout the book it got more interesting and exciting. This is a book readers should read.
I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore The exposition of the book I am Number Four the setting is set on Earth. The characters are John Smith a guy from this world called Lorien. He has a guardian named Henri. Sarah Hart a human that John smith likes. Another kid is Mark James he hates John and thinks that sarah should only be his girlfriend. Mogadorians are aliens that take over planets and destroy everyone from them. The problem is that number three is dead and number four is next so he has to run away so that the mogadorians can’t find him. My opinion of this book so far is good because of its twists and turns. How they add more and get rid of characters. But I think the best part is how many obstacles that John has to overcome.
I am reading The Prince and The Pauper by Mark Twain. There are two boys living in London during the middle ages, both look like twins, but have no relations whatsoever. One is a poor boy living in a shack shared with other families, and the other is the prince of Whales. The poor boy wanders the streets and one day, came up to the palace. The guards roughly threw him out in the street, but when the prince saw that, he scolded the guards, and let the poor boy in. It turns out that they both want to switch places, so they decide do do so for a day. They switch clothes, and the prince sets off on his adventure in the streets. When the prince can't find his way back, and the king starts to die, there is a big problem. They will be switched forever, and the poor boy does not know how to act royal. So far i really enjoy this book, and would reccommend it to anyone, it is a classic.
I am reading Elephant Run. This is a story about a kid who's house in Britain got bombed by the Nazi's in World War 2. His mom then sends the kid named Nick to Burma with his father on a plantation. But Nick then suffers in injury and the Japanese are coming to Burma and his dad wants to fight the Japanese. I like this story so far even though there is not alot of action in the beginning but in the middle the story picks up pace. I would recommend this book because it has a good story line. The title "elephant run" is because they use elephants in Burma to transport things and people and elephants are part of their culture.
I am currently reading "The Lions of Little Rock" by Kristine Levine. My book is based in Little Rock 1958. There is a girl named Marlee she doesn't talk much and has a mean friend named Sally. Marlee is a math genius and to calm her self and reassure her she counts the prime numbers. One day a new girl named Liz comes to school and starts talking to Marlee. Soon they become best friends and meet at the zoo. It is sort of their hang out. I recommend this book to people who likes action in the past, like 1958 past. I like this book lot, and it picks up action when Liz leaves school.
Kate Pollina 2nd hour Currently, I am reading "All the Lovely Bad Ones" by Mary Downing Hahn. The main characters are Travis and Corey (brother and sister) Travis and Corey's Grandmother, Miss Ada Jaggs (ghost) and the Lovely Bad Ones (group of ghosts). Travis and Corey go to their grandmother's inn for the summer. When they find out that the inn has been haunted, they pretend to BE ghosts and pull pranks, but they end up WAKING UP the ghosts (the Lovely Bad Ones and Miss Ada Jaggs), and the only way to get them back to sleep is to give them what they want. I highly recommend this book for people who like creepy stories. I like this book because it has a thrill to it and there's a lot of action.
I recently finished a book called Okay for Now written by Gary Schmidt. The story takes place in modern times in Marysville, New York. This book is about a boy named Doug who moved to a new town. He lives with a mean and cruel brother, an annoying dad, but a very loving mother. Living there was a hard adjustment for him, but once he meets Lil Spicer, things aren’t so bad. Her father offered him a delivery job and he accepts, not knowing what else comes with it. Overall, I thought that the book was a two out of three stars. At times, it was difficult to get through, but it was a good book.
I am reading Nerds by Michael Buckley. this book is about a group of kids that are super agents. there mission is to save the world. I lick this book Because it has lots of action. I also like this book because it is very funny.
I am reading the book, Brian's return, by: Gary Paulsen. This is the fourth book in the Hatchet series. It is about the same boy, Brian, who got stuck in the wilderness for over 90 days because of a fatal plane crash. In this book, Brian is back at his house during the spring time, but he doesn't feel good at home. He actually misses being out in the wild. He doesn't enjoy any video games, he doesn't like school, and he doesn't like people. He hates everything that the modern day kid would love. So that is when Brian decides to pack up a huge amount of supplies, and he gets sent out in the wilderness to start a new life. That is where brian thinks he belongs. I think this book is pretty good so far, because I just got to the part where he is in the wild, starting his new life. The beginning goes kind of slow, but if you read about 50 pages, you will get into the book if you have enjoyed this series so far. I like the book how it is now, because I really enjoy these types of books. I like seeing how people would survive in the wild, and how they could accomplish tasks without all of the technology that they have at their regular home. This book has a lot of action parts too, and that is why I like these books. Whenever there is a lot of suspense, I love to read until I get to the part where the huge part happens.
Page 50 in a book is usually when people decide if the book is good or not. I am glad you stuck on the slower parts and started to enjoy this book. I like Gary Paulsen's books. I know you mentioned reading the Hatchet series, but have you tried any of his other titles. I have recommendations if you'd like to come talk to me.
I am reading a book called ''the secret of the fortune wookie'' an origami Yoda book. This is a book that is very good that has very good drawings in it, and t can show you how to make the characters in the books like origami yoda, fortune wookie, or Darth paper. Tommy is a kid that loves to draw comics. All of his friends like him because he can draw very good things and he is very creative at things like drawing. He was thinking of making a new origami yoda book, so he made up "the secret of the fortune wookie". So Tommy make a character of fortune wookie and plays with it......... He realizes that it's mouth is to big........ So he Gives it to someone named Dwight that is the weirdest kid in school. Dwight can fix it but the something bad happens........ Jonathan Fu Period 2 I have just finished the book AMERICAN BORN CHINESE. This book is a graphic novel, I thought the book was okay it was about a greedy monkey king, a boy with a lost friendship and a embarrassing cousin from china. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone unless you really like graphic novels. Currently I am reading NERDS.
I am not sure I really understand why you thought the book was just okay. Can you tell me more about your experiencing reading this book? Why was it only okay? How could it have been better? Was the story not exciting or suspenseful?
I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie. Crossed is the sequel to Matched. Crossed takes place in the future and the society makes all the decisions for you. Cassia and Xander are matched together but Cassia falls in love with someone else, Ky. Because Ky and Cassia fell in love, Ky is shipped of to be a soldier and Cassia goes to work in the farm lands. Cassia and Ky are forced to be apart. They can’t handle it though, they set off on a journey through the carving to find each other. I enjoyed the book but most of the second half gets pretty boring. The book got confusing at some parts because every other chapter it switches off between Ky’s story and Cassia’s. I like most of the book and I can’t wait to read the next one.
I am reading the book, Zach's Run by Roland Smith. This is the sequel of Zach's Lie. The main character is Mack. His sister and him have to stay in California for weeks or even months for the trial to end. His parents are trying to put a drug dealer in jail. Mack, in the other book, took down Alonzo(a leader of the drug dealers). Alonzo is trying to find the kids so that he can blackmail their parents. When this occurs, because of Mack's sisters' lazy actions, Alonzo's goons capture them. Now they have to escape.
This book is really good. I hope there will be another sequel to this book.
This book is really good...hmmm? That doesn't tell me much. I like how you summarized the plot, but you need to tell me more about your rating of "good".
The book I am reading is football superstars and it is about Walter Payton by Adam Woog. he grew up in a good home and environment. He went to Jackson state and played football. it was cool because e played with his brother Eddie Payton. which is ironic because they played each other in the NFL many times in both of there career Walter just kept on getting better in his career in college. He won many awards but the fans cheated him for the Heisman. the Heisman is a offensive award that basically means you are the best.offensive player.
I think I remember you enjoying non-fiction books last year, too. Am I right? I think this is great! You can learn so much from reading them. I would recommend The Candy Bombers. It is one of the Caudill books this year. I think you'd like it!
Matthew B. Period 4 I am reading the book Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick. The book is about a boy in 8th grade, who's name is Steven, and his brother is diagnosed with Leukemia. His brother is 5, and his whole family is deeply surprised. The family is struck with very expensive bills after starting chemotherapy, and Steven does not want anybody to know at his school. His grades start slipping away and his future keeps getting worse and worse. When his mom says that he should go into counseling, Steven hates the idea at first. One day at school, the school counselor calls Steven down to her office to have a little chat. The counselor asks if there is any issues at home, and Steven denies everything. He refuses to tell them about his brothers cancer. I really like this book, because it is realistic fiction and it is a story about Sadness, Grief, Happiness, and Surprise.

Zamin Ahmed 4 period The book that I am reading is The Apothecary the author of the book is Maile Meloy .The book is starts when a girl name Janie who has moved from here old home because since her dad is so good in the government he keeps on getting offers in different states. At first Janie is not happy, but that changes when he meets this boy named Benjamin who's dad is a Apothecary(medicine man). He and Benjamin play a game of chess. In my opinion, I think the book is okay.I think that if there was more twisted or action. Something that I liked about this book is a secret being revealed and the special powers of the characters.
The book I am currently reading is "The Wish List". This story is about a girl, Meg Finn, who dies in a gas explosion caused by her accomplice Belch and it takes place in Ireland. Now, Meg Finn is a spirit who is prepared to go either to heaven, or "down below". There is just one problem, Meg has does just as much good as she has done bad. Now, to make it to heaven, she must go back to earth as a spirit and help Lowrie, the last person she sinned on, with his "Wish List". His wish list is a list of four things that he regretted not accomplishing when he was younger. Along the way, they realize that Belch has been programmed by the devil to hunt down Meg and make sure that she will go "down below". I love this book very much because it is action packed and full of humor at the same time. I would give it a overall rating of three stars out of three.
The title of my book is The Vindico. The author’s name is Wesley King. So far this book is telling me that there is a group of heroes called the league and they just finished a war against The Villains. The characters names are James, Lana, Hayden, and Emily. I do not like this book because of the whole structure of it and it doesn't really have anything exciting happening.
I just finished the book Mick Harte Was Here by Barbara Park. I give this book a 11 out of 10. I liked how it was from the main character's point of view. I also liked that it had mixed emotions it was just so vivid I felt like I was in the situation that the main character was in. The story is about how Phoebe (main character) and Mick (her brother) got in a fight over a cereal toy one morning, the following school day Mick asks Phoebe to take his bike home because he wants to go to a friends house but Phoebe declined. Later after school at soccer practice Phoebe heard sirens pass the soccer field she was playing at, after a while of waiting Phoebe sees her soccer coach running towards her with terrible news. I will not spoil the book but I knew what was gonna happen but it was one of those things that were like horror stories where u say "Don't Open The Door!" I was saying to myself do not take the bike home. I love these kind of books that keep me at the edge of my seat and make me feel like I'm there. Although this book was only 88 pages, it was full of sadness, thrilling events, and visual eligible throughout the whole book. This was definitely the book for me.
I am reading "Both Sides of Time" by Caroline B. Cooney. In this book, the main character is a teenage girl named Annie Lockwood, and she's living a teenage romance, but In the wrong century. She lives in the 1990's, but the way she imagines it, she's living in the 1890's. Even though Sean is her dream boyfriend, he's not that romantic. AT ALL. On the last day of school, she visits Sean's house and Annie magically falls decades through time and suddenly appears in a different, and more romantic setting. In my opinion, this book wold be great is you're a person who likes romantic books. I like is so far, and I hope that I'll enjoy the rest of it!
Sriti Donthi Period 4 I am reading Dial L for Losers by Lisi Harrison. This is the 6th book in The Clique Series. The characters in the books are Massie Block, Claire Lyons, Alica Rivera, Kristen Gregory, and Dylan Marvil (The Pretty Committee), and their parents. This book takes place in the modern time in, Westchester, New York and in Hollywood. The problem is that Massie Block the leader of the Pretty Committee, is jealous of Claire Lyons, a loser, because she got a part in a movie. I really liked this book, and all of them in the series. I would recommend this book (for girls) because it is really interesting.
9/18/2019 4th,period Angelina,Ramirez Trash by Andy Mulligan
So far the book is good its about a boy named Raphael. Raphael and his friend Gardo had been working at the dumpster for 11 years Raphael. Raphael and Gardo basically look through garbage until they find something they can fix up and sell to people in their town or if they find something worth lots of money . When that day come I wonder what Raphael and Gardo will spend it on or if they will share to money. I think this book is interesting because just based on one thing they can find in the dumpster can change theirs lives. I'm kinda excited to find out what will they find that will change their lives.
I didn't think I was going to like this book because of the title and the cover, but it surprised me. Once I started reading, I wondered what the boys would do with their "find" as well. Keep on reading because it gets even better!
Hey there, the book I read (I just finished it) is Holes, by Louis Sachar, who makes really good books and I love reading them. The main character in this book is Stanley Yelnats, who went to a detention camp called Camp Green Lake, and I’m sure you’re wondering why Stanley is at this random place where you have to dig holes the whole day, well read the book to find out why! Stanley has a nickname at the camp (read to find out what it is) and he makes some friends at the camp, who all has nicknames, like Zero, Squid, Zigzag and more. Basically the problem of the story is that Stanley was sent to camp, and has to do what his counselor, Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski says, where he meets epic and dangerous experiences during he’s there. I highly recommend this book to people that like realistic fiction, because the book has a lot of epic settings, very detailed, and was able to give me a “movie in my mind”. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars, which this book was also the winner of the Newbery Medal. If you don’t trust me, with I’m just going to say that you’re going to be sorry for yourself, and have wished that you have read this book. :)

If you like romance, you'll like a book called The Selection. It is book one of a trilogy. My niece and I love this trilogy. The new book is coming out this fall. Can't wait!
I just finished the book called Boys Without Names by Kashmira Seth. The main character in this book is Gopal. He had a brother named Naren, and a sister named Sita. He is living in the "country" of India, and his dad thinks they should move into the city of Mumbai so that they can have a better life and get better jobs. Gopal is excited and sad at the same time. He doesn't want to leave his friends, but he is excited to move into a different type of lifestyle. They decide to get on a train the following morning, and on the train they meet a person who Gopal names "Card-Man" because the man gives Gopal playing cards for him to play with Naren and Sita so they don't get bored. They can't afford to take the train all the way to Mumbai, so they hope that they will have enough money to take a bus the rest of the way. Once they get off they live on the street for a couple of days until they earn enough money for the dad to go to Mumbai. They are planning to stay with Gopal's uncle, Jama, so his dad's plan is to get Jama and come back to get the rest of the family. The dad goes but doesn't come back. Gopal, his mom, and his siblings earn enough money to go to Jama's house so they decide to go by bus after about 4 days. They reach Jama's house, but his dad is nowhere to be found. They file a report at the police station, and Gopal decides to find work nearby. Then, something unexpected happened... I love this book, because it is very intense and keeps me entertained throughout the whole story. For example, after the author set the story, it took off with action-packed events and chiller moments!
You did an awesome job of explaining the exposition. I also liked your use of the word "intense" when describing your feelings towards the book. Your blog comment has made me want to read this book. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I think you've just convinced. Another book for my "Someday List".
I am reading the book "The Curse of the Campfire Weenies" by David Lubar. This book has many different stories in it. One of my favorite stories in the book is one where there are these two kids, brother(Jimmy) and sister(Darrin). One day Jimmy was spinning all sorts of things at his house and his sister, Darrin, was annoyed. So then she said that she was going out but was forced to take her brother with her. Then they arrived at the beach with Darrin's friend and Jimmy started to make all of the sand swirl into a tornado which literally blew his sister and her friend away. I thought that this book was a good book because it has different stories and you can read them in any order.
The book fire girl is about a girl who is new to school. She is different so she changes how everything is at least for the seventh graders. The main characters are Jessica, Jeff, and Tom. the setting is at the school st. Catherin's the time is present. the book is a good book because we can sort of relate to it because we are seeventh gradders to and are district has a Catholic school to.
I am reading Mick Harte Was Here by Barbara Park. This book takes place in modern times and the characters are Mick(dead), Phoebe(Brother of mick) and Zoe(Mick and Phoebe's friend). This book has lots of laughs with a little sadness because Mick gets hit by a car and dies an Phoebe Tells the story how he deals with the lose of his brother.I think this book is the best book to read because it is sad and funny and the author knows how to make it enjoyable. I think any person who has a sense of hummer should read this.
I finished the book Behemoth, by Scott Westerfeld. It is an awesome book and I really recommend reading it. It starts off on the Leviathan, a genetically engineered airship. The characters are Alek, Deryn/Dylan, Count Volger, and more to come! The series takes place in a alternate 1900s era where fabricated animals fight giant mech robots! I think this is a great book worth giving a good read. CAUTION: This book is the second in the Leviathan trilogy. For it to make sense you should read the first book.
>>>I am currently enjoying the thrilling novel Dvergent by Veronica Roth, Divergent. It takes place in dystopian Chicago where the population is divided into five different groups, referred to as “factions.” Each faction holds it’s own unique traits. Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Your choice depends on the results of a test simulation called the aptitude tests. This is an intense testing simulation in which, how you react to the simulated events depend on your factions of choosing. At the choosing of your faction, you choose only one faction. The main character, Beatrice, makes a choice that surprises herself and everyone else. The book follows her on her intense journey to freedom. I would recommend this novel to anybody who loves dramatic twists and an intense storyline. The book also continues into a series. I have read all of them and I am starting over the adventure. Divergent will keep you up all night eager to turn that next page. Divergent is full of action, rivalry, emotion, and intensity. I can’t wait for the film! <<<
I am reading The Running Dream by Wendelin Jan Drannen. The book mostly takes place at home, in the hospital or at school. Jessica gets hospitalized because of a bus accident while going to a marathon. She now has to live without a leg below the knee. Once she healed (which was quick)she went home. Her friends were over and she didn't listen to what they were saying. Instead she was staring at their legs thinking, how will I ever run again? Slowly, Jessica was learning how to move around the house and get up the stairs without a wheelchair or crutches. I recommend this book a lot because I just think it is really interesting and it is a great book so far.
Vineeth R. Erak’s Ransom by John Flanagan This is a great fantasy book about life in the medieval times, when they use swords, bows, etc. It is the seventh book in the very enticing Rangers Apprentice series. The main characters are Halt, a shady Ranger(kind of like a police officer), Will, Halt’s apprentice, Horace, Will’s warrior friend, Cassandra, a.k.a. Evanlyn, the princess of their home country Araluen, and Erak, the Oberjarl(king) of Skandia. The problem is that Erak is kidnapped by the Arridi, a desert tribe, and they are holding him for ransom. Halt, Will, Horace, and Evanlyn travel down to Arrida to rescue him. They are about to pay his ransom when an enemy of the Arridi take Erak to wreak havoc and take revenge on the Arridi. The four, along with the Arridi, have to find Erak and save him before the enemy can usurp their vengeance by killing him. I think this book is an excellent piece of work and is action-packed. The book is very fast paced, with excellent word choice to keep your interest within its grasp. For example it says, “The sentry never saw the dark-clad figure ghosting through the night toward Castle Araluen. Merging with the prevailing patterns of light and shade thrown by the half-moon, the interloper seemed to blend in with the fabric of the night, matching the rhythm of the trees and cloud shadows as they moved with the moderate wind.” The description is excellent, and with all the action this book delivers, it makes this series one of my all time favorites.
My book is called the Rivalry by John Feinstein and right now i'm about finished with my book and so far I think its really good because in the beginning of the is the climax it jumps to the best part because Stevie’s dad left when his mom gave birth and never came back. Then after the football game stevie’s team won a man knocked on his door and it was stevie’s dad. Also i'm at the end of the book and that’s when it gets serious because it has to do with the president and the Navy team which is stevie’s team play noter dame and Stevie’s team is winning the the reffs might be cheating because of the coach of the other team. Also it could cost Stevie’s coach’s job because he realizes the things with the reffs and so he has to not say anything or do anything about it so he might have his team lose.
The book I’m reading is called Found by Margaret Peterson. In the book some of the characters are Chip, Jonah and Katherine. Jonah and Chip were both adopted and they are both best friends. Katherine is Jonah’s sister who helps both Jonah and Chip get some answers on their adoption. My book take place in Ohio in present time. The problem in my book is that Jonah is curious about finding out some information about his old family and where he came from, and there is something about his past that nobody can tell him. Jonah gets notes from people he doesn't know saying ‘’ Your are missing’’ ‘’Beware they are coming after you’’. At first he thought it was a prank, but he kept on getting them. Also, his best friend Chip is receiving the same notes too. They were both adopted so there is something going on. After they found out that they were both getting the notes, they haven't stopped trying to find anything important about their past. I really like this book. I liked how the author jumped right into the action. For example, in the beginning of the first chapter it got right into him getting the notes and how he has been trying to find out the past. There are so many things happening the book it leaves you hanging after every chapter. Another example, is that on the end of one chapter he meets this guy Mr. Reardon who supposedly had some information about his past, but ends not saying anything they need to know. Mr. Reardon gives him some soda to make him feel better but ends up getting him sick. When Jonah goes to the bathroom this person says ‘’ Sorry that wasn't supposed to get you sick’’. He also says ‘’ There is a file underneath Mr. Reasons desk hiding with some information, you better hurry up and take a peak, it is valuable information.’’ Jonah gets out the stall and nobody was there, but he didn't hear anybody go out the door. His mom was waiting outside the bathroom, and Jonah asked did you see anybody come out the bathroom and she said ‘’No’’. I thought that ending was very good.
The book that I am reading is called shug by jenny han. This book is about a girl named Annemarie she has fallen in love with a boy named mark findley, how has been her friend for as long as she can remember. In this book she tries so hard to make him notice her but it is hard with all of the challenges in her life. her parents constantly fight about her dad being at work more than at home, her friend elaine is leaving her for new friends, and mark ( her crush) she likes doesn't notice her at all. Annemarie at one point in the book her school is having a dance and after a lot of convincing she goes. She didn’t want to go to the dance but after her sister celia curls her hair and gives her a dress she is excited. eventually the last song comes on and she asks mark to dance but she is crushed when his date comes and cuts in and learns that he has no interest in her whatsoever. I like this store because the tour gives so many details and at certain points in the book can make it relatable to the readers.
Aliyan V Period 4 The book I am reading is The Battle of the Labyrinth, By Rick Riordan. Some characters are Percy, Annabeth, Grover,, Tyson, the Gods, Daedalus, Luke( bad guy), and Percy’s mom. The story takes place in New Jersey and Mt St Helens. The problem is Percy’s friends have to find Daedalus to prevent Luke from obtaining Ariadne's String; the tool that would allow Luke to navigate the Labyrinth. This could start a war Between the gods and the Demigods. They fight mystical creatures and go through a huge maze. I would recommend you this book if you like fantasy or gods. This was an amazing book and this series is awesome.
Braden A. 6th hour The title of the book is Summer Ball by Mike Lupica. The setting is in the present and the setting is at a camp in maine and Middletown, where his home. I am reading the book The Lost Hero by, Rick Riordan. This book is the first of three. This book is about Greek mythology and demigod adventures. In The story there are 3 main characters: Jason, Piper, and Leo. They are kids who go to a school that is for bad kids, when they are suddenly disturbed by weird monsters. After this encounter two people take them to Camp halfblood where they will learn about everything. The problem of this story is that a camper is missing: Percy Jackson. He is the son of Poseidon. In my opinion this book is very exciting and it makes me want to keep reading and reading!
I am reading Peak by Roland Smith. So far in the book Peak had tried to climb a mountain and failed. The police took him to the station because it was illegal to climb buildings. He went to court and lost the battle. He had to pay a fine and go into jail. The Setting of this book is at the hospital and at the court. The characters are mom, dad, and the two little twins. The problem is that peak climbed a building he wasn't suppose to and is now in huge trouble. He has to find out how to redeem himself. This book gets very confusing for the first 30-40 pages and then mellows out. It was very weird to me. I actually wouldn't recommend this book because it is very confusing?
The book I’m reading is the Game Changers by Mike Lupica. The characters are Ben , Shawn , Sam, Coop , and Lilly. The story take place in Rockwell in present time. The problem of the story is that Ben wants to be quarterback on his football team but the coaches son Shawn always gets the quarterback job. Ben for the past four years has tried out for the job but keeps being running back or wide receiver. Ben is short but has a big arm and can really throw the ball but the coach doesn't notice because he is so hung up about Shawn. But something surprising happens that makes Ben help Shawn be a better QB. I recommend this to anyone that likes sports. This book so far is really good.
Ethan B period 6 The book that I am reading is Bamboo People by: Mitali Perkins. This book takes place in near past Burmese in a town called Yangon and a military base. I am reading the 39 Clues, The Maze of Bones, by Rick Riordan. The main characters are Amy and Dan Cahill. The begging of the story is at their grandmas house. When she died, she called a certain amount of relatives to inherit a million dollars a person, or they could go on a dangerous hunt for 39 clues in order to be the most important Cahill in history. I have only got to about page 30 but it is a great start to the book. It seems very interesting and is keeping me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense or action books.
I'm reading the book, "The hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. Some of the people in the book are Katniss, the main character, Peeta, Gail, Prim, and Rue. I think that all of the people named are very important in the book because they all play a special role in the games weather they are in them or not. This story takes place in the future, and the location is the arena. The arena is where the games happen. The hunger games is just how it sounds, you aren't given food, or water, or even weapons. It is a game were you kill other tributes (the kids from age 12 to 18) in the games, have to kill each other in order to stay alive. There are 24 tributes and only one comes out alive. One girl and one boy from each district are put in the games to fight to the death, literally! I'm only on page 211, but I already know that it is going to be one of my favorite books. From the first page, I loved it! I love books that start right off with the action, and this book does that.If you read this post, you should definitely read "The Hunger Games".
Alex L. Period 6 The book I read last was called Raptor,it is by Paul Zindel! It takes place in a giant cave, and Zack's house in present time. The characters are Zack, and Uta. I thought that this book was amazing so fast paced and put a movie in my mind best book ever!!
The book I am reading is "The Alchemsyt" by Michael Scott. So far, I have been very double-crossed with this book, and have not read further than 120 pages. In this book (so far), it has taken place in modern day San Francisco, California. The main characters are Sophie and Josh Newman, who are twins. They work in shops and live with their grandmother, as their parents are famous archaeologists. Josh and Sophie work at local stores owned by Nick and Perry Fleming. Everything was as normal as a teenager's life could be for them. But, on a regular afternoon, everything changes. Nick Fleming visits the bookstore as Josh is in the cellar. Somebody barges in, hoping to steal a precious item, and obtains it while whisking away Perry Fleming. As secrets are revealed, and magic is exposed, the poor twins are trapped between the world of logic and a world of magic. So far, I am r e a l l y trying to read this book, and I want to give up on it. It has been getting better because some actions is stirring up. I also hear from people who have read the book before and are telling me to keep reading it, so I am trying.
Sylwia S. 6th Hour First Light By: Rebecca Stead Peter lives in an apartment in New York City. His father is a Glaciologist someone who studies glaciers. His best friend is miles, he is always making new names for things. One day peter's dad comes home early from work to tell peter and his mom some big news. This book is not EXTREMELY amazing but, it's a good book. Someone recommended this book to me and said it was amazing. I would not recommend this book because I think its a little boring in most parts and some what interesting.
The book I finished was HOW THEY CROAKED this was a book that was sad on how famous peopled died you should read this book because you would know the knowledge on how really old people died. Some of the characters are George Washington, Pocka hontes and Beethoven.
Mocking Jay by Suzanne Collins. This book is about how Peeta and Katniss a boy and a girl are fighting with the rebels to take over the abusive capitol. This book was good in my opinion because although it had romance it also had a lot of action. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a book that is good and has a lot of action with a little romance.
The book I am currently reading is An Abundance of Katherine's, by John Green. The main character in this book are Colton Singleton, Hasan,Hollis Wells, and Lindsey lee Wells. The book takes place in current time, in a town called Gunshot. Colin and Hasan end up in gunshot completely on accident. You see, they were on a summer long road trip, and just happened to stumble through town. Colin was a prodigy, and he needed a break over the summer, thus resulting in the road trip. Colin is currently using his prodigy brain to come up with a therom. A therom about the likability and strange occurrence of Katherines. So far, I really like this book. In the beginning it started out slow, but soon it picked up the pace. This is a really good book, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Saira A. Period 6 My book is called The Lions of Little Rock by Kristin Levine. It is historical fiction. The characters are Marlee, Liz, Marlees mom, Marlees dad, and Marlee's sister, Judy. The setting of this book is in Little Rock in 1958 at the time of segregation. Marlee is a very quiet girl. Liz is a very loud opinionated girl. They become friends and Liz teaches Marlee how to be loud and to talk to people. Liz and Malree become best friends until one day when Liz doesn’t show up to school one day and Marlee finds out her secret. If Marlee and Liz continue to be friends, both of their families will be in big trouble but Liz and Marlee are determined to stay friends at any cost. I love this book. I think it is a great book about friendship and how to not judge a person by their color. This book is funny at some parts and heartbreaking at other parts. If you like books about friendship, then this book is for you.
Nathan Z Nathan Z I am reading One-Handed Catch by: MJ Auch. A kid just joining 6th grade had his hand shredded in his dad's store meat grinder. Ever since then he had troubles with everything ever since, from tying shoe laces to playing baseball, his favorite sport. Norm (main character) has a friend, named Leon. They both work together to make the easiest things easier.
I am currently reading “Ways to Live Forever” by Sally Nicholls. My book is based on 11 year old Sam McQueen has leukemia which is kind of like cancer. He meets a new friend when he was in the hospital (Felix) who has cancer. They are in the same class (both home schooled), they always hang out with each other until one day Felix is pulled into the hospital and stays there for a while. Sam’s mom didn't want Sam to go see Felix because she was afraid that he would get really upset. Sam convinced his mom to take him, but she didn't get upset like his mom thought he would, he was actually really glad that he saw Felix for the last time. Felix woke up and smiled.............sorry but that's all that I can tell you. If you want to read this book go down to the library and see if they have it.
The book that I am currently reading is called "Watcher in the Woods" by "Robert Liparulo". I am on page 19 and so far I know that the characters are “David, Xander, their dad, their mom, and the people on the other side of the portals.” The book takes place in modern times inside a families home. The problem in this story is that the house has portals to other worlds, and the mom has been captured and taken by something on the other side of the portal. Now David, Xander, and their dad are going to try and save her. So far I think this book is great. It has a lot of action that I love, and it has logical thinking which makes it better. I recommend this book to people who love action and mystery books.
September, 19 2013 Mrs. Diamond Period 6 The book I am currently reading is called The Enchantress, by Michael Scott. It is the last book in the series, The Alchemyst. The Enchantress is about Sophie and Josh, brother and sister who have been thrown into a world they never knew existed until about a month ago. Sophie and Josh now have the fate of humanity in their hands. The Immortal , Nicholas Flamel has been trying to find the twins of the Prophecy, one to destroy the world one to save it. Sophie and Josh have been working together to save it, but no one knows which one will save or destroy. Nicholas has finally found the twins after centuries of searching he and his wife, Perenelle, now have the twins that will overthrow the dark elders. Dr. John Dee who has been searching for the Codex, the book that has kept Nicholas and Perenelle alive for all these years, has the book. Now after their last month, they have one day to live and one day to protect the city of San Francisco, and the world from being overrun by monsters, and defend the island of Alcatraz, which is the source of the monsters. I think that at this point Nicholas and Perenelle should do everything they can to save the world, and if possible I think they should find the Codex. You should read this series because like in the book there is a lot of action and a lot to find out. The book is very exciting in the end because everyone one is deciding whether they want to destroy humanity or chose the side of the weak. In the book you can tell who the underdog is and you know that picking their side will save billions of people who don’t know what is going on. Everyone should read this very exciting book and series.
I am reading Breaking Stalin’s Nose by Eugene Yelchin. It is about a boy who lives in Germany, while the war is going on. I inferred that this book most likely took place in the past because they use many “old features” like the way people are talking and acting. The boy, Sasha, is a son of a great hero and Communist of their land and city. The father helps find and capture spies/enemies of the war. He is a very successful at his job and is at the top of the league. So everyone admires his dad and pleasures the two of them. And of course Sasha is trying to follow in his dads footsteps and become a Youth Pioneer and he is only one day away from getting it. He was to receive his award and become a Pioneer at school the next day. Sasha’s mother died so it is only the dad and Sasha. In the society that they are living in (Natzies) they live in a big building with many rooms with a lot of other families, each family gets one room, but of course the two boys get a very enjoyable big room. One day after a long day at work the father comes home, successful as always. They has just got into their room and had fallen asleep when the officials came and arrested the Sashas father. What happens next???

Right now, I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie. The characters in this book are Cassia, and Ky. Cassia is seventeen years old, she has brown hair, and she is brave, kind, and courageous. Cassia is in love with Ky. Ky is also seventeen years old. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He is an abberation (someone who is not normal), he is caring, and he is very smart. Ky is in love with Cassia. This book takes place in the future. Also, this book happens in two camps, Cassia is in one camp, and Ky is in the other. The problem in this book is that Cassia and Ky got separated and Cassia is doing her best to try and find Ky. So far, I am really liking this book. I am on page 63 , chapter seven, and this book is just starting to get good. For example, right now, Cassia is getting sent off to another camp, but she is planning to escape to her past providence when the air ship is done dropping off all the other girls. This is one of the good parts of the book because you do not know what is going to happen to Cassia if she escapes. You wonder what will happen to Cassia. If Cassia’s plan does not work, she can possibly die.
Ben.P 8th hour The book I am reading is boys without names. It is a first person book that follows a Indian boy named Gopal. In this book Gopal and his family are forced to move from their small farming town to Mumbai the big city. In Mumbai Gopal finds work but soon realizes that he is being held prisoner and might not ever get out. My opinion on this book so far is good. This book is very detailed and intriguing. Although I am not yet finish with this book I think it will end well.
A book that I am currently reading is Nightrise. It is about there’s currently these 2 guys who are spying on these twins, since these twins have something that the world can’t explain, but somebody can.. They are searching for the twins, and trying to find some kind of power they have. So far they found them in a carnival that the twins were in, and they watch them. They do some kind of power that it is not believable to human. They can read the other twin’s mind, and guess what the other twin was holding. No microphones, speakers, nothing that could tell him the item. So what I know that the agents want to find something about that power that the twins have. What I think this story is mysterious and interesting. My evidence for this kind of trait is here: “The two men in the black limousine had already circled the theater once. Now they pulled in on the other side of the road, opposite main door.” This evidence just that makes me know that there is a mystery in the story.
The Shamers daughter By; Lene Kaaberbol The characters are Dina (the shamers daughter),Dina's mother,Nico, and Draken. A shamer is someone who has the power to make someone feel ashamed of every bad thing they have ever done. Dina inherits the "gift" as her mother calls it, not very many people have ever been able to hold a shamers glance. When Nico is accused of killing his brother, mom and his wife Dina's mother is sent to go to read his soul to see if he is the murderer. Dina's mother promises to be back in 1 day but when she is not back Dina leaves to find her mother but when she get to the town he mother is arrested and is going to bed fed to the dragons. Dina meets new friends and attempts to save her mother. My opinion of this book is that this book is exciting. It is exciting because there is always a new problem after one get solved so its never ending chase or planning.
I am currently reading Ranger's Apprentice Book 3: The Icebound Land. The characters in this book are Will, Cassandra, Halt, Horace, and Erak. This book place outside on the borders of Araluen and on the island of Skorghijl. The time this takes place is the past because the people still are still ruled by a king that lives in a castle. Also, the weapons used in wars are weapons of the past, like swords and bows and arrows, along with cavalry. The conflict of the book is that Will and Cassandra, a princess, disguised as her maid, Evanlyn, are trapped on an island held captive by Erak and his crew. Will tries for hope of escape while Cassandra(Evanlyn) waits to be rescued by her father, the king. Meanwhile, Halt, Will's craftmaster, tries to rescue his young apprentice, Will. He even defied his king to go out and search for Will, risking execution. Horace, a friend of Will, wants to join Halt on their way to Scandia, where Will and Cassandra will be held captive. While they are away on Skorghijl acting as temporary slaves for Erak's crew. Halt and Horace try to quickly make their way to Scandia, but if they don't make it in time, Will and Cassandra will be made as permanent slaves. I think that this book is perfect for me and anyone else that likes a ton of action. You never know what is going to happen next, making you predict, and you always want to know what the characters are thinking. Overall, I like this book a lot.
The book I am reading is “Revenge Of The Wannabes” by Lisi Harrison
This book is about a bunch of girls in a clique and the clique is lead by a girl named Massie. One of the girls named Alicia Rivera is in the clique but, she wants to start a clique of her own. At first the book starts off with Alicia in dance class and being the leader of where she starts to dance and all the girls follows and repeats what she does. She realizes what Massie feels like this and she just loves that feeling. That is why Alicia wants to start her own clique. To start making a clique she hosts her own sleepover. She invites a bunch of friends over but…. Alicia does not invite Massie so Massie doesn’t act like the one who bosses everyone around. I really like this book because it can really connect to life and show people what happens with cliques. I also love this book so far because it has a lot of action in it and does not get boring before the main thing happens.
The book I am reading right now is called Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson. The main characters are Max, Fang, Nudge, Angel, Gasman, and Iggy. The problem right now is that some very bad and dangerous people called The Erasers took Angel which is the youngest. Everybody has amazing powers like they can all fly and they can run super fast. This book is probably one of thee best books I have read yet. This book is very suspenseful and super action-packed. I strongly recommend this book to all types of readers.
Justyn M. period 8 The book I am reading is A Tale Dark & Grimm by Adam Gidwitz. This book is set in a Kingdom named Grimm, and its from the past. The book so far is about a former King who passed away passed his throne down to his son and his servant, Faithful Johannes would instruct his son to become a great king. The king instructed Johannes do follow everything his son asks, but to avoid his son from seeing a golden room with a picture of the most beautiful girl in the world. Later on, the king died and Johannes told the king's son that it has his turn to take the throne and resume power. Johannes gave him a royal tour around the palace, and when the son saw the golden room he wanted to enter it. Johannes had to obey his orders by his father and opened the room. There the king's son saw the picture and immediately fell in love with her and searched for her. My opinion is that it was a risky move opening the door because he knows it is not good if he sees the picture, but his orders was to do any of the king's son orders. I am liking the book so far and I can not wait to read more.
Chicagoland Detective Agency By: Trina Robbins 8th hour Mrs. Diamond Robert T.
First of all DON'T read this book. If you want to see how cheesy it is go ahead. But I would rate this a 0.5/3 stars because it was so cheesy and unrealistic. But here is the story a new girl comes to town and asks a boy at the pet store if they had tarantulas. Like always he said no but everyday she'd come back and ask again and again. Why? Because her dad is allergic to animals with hair.(don't ask) A tarantula doesn't have hair so she wants one. So when she goes to school for the first time everyone is so jolly and weird and all have band-aids on their heads. The lunch lady was all so like um..... Down, like not like the others. Soon enough The Boy and the girl find out who the lunch lady really is and they try to stop her. Will they win? p.s. they meet a new friend a long the way. Just saying this book is VERY CHEESY.
This boom is called Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. In this book Jacob is the main character. In the beginning of the book Jacob's grandfather died. He was so petrified by his grandfathers death that he couldn't even explain without sounding like a crazy person. His grandfather died right in front of his eyes. He died by this unreal abstruse animal. His parents made him go to a therapist. Then the therapist suggested going on the island Jacob wanted to go to for his grandfather. When Jacob and his dad got to the island it wasn't the cleanest city of all. They barely had real food or even electricity. The morning on there second day of adventure Jacob's dad was already out the door on the lookout for birds. Jacob wanted to go to the bog on the other side of the island to find out more about his grandfather. Fathom, he found more than he could believe. He discovered something very limpid. At the end of this adventure he has to make a huge decision that will change his life forever.
BrotherBand Chronicles- Book 2: The Invaders By: John Flanagan The main character of the book is Hal. The minor characters are Stig, Thorn, Tursgud and Zavac. This takes place at sea. Book 1 took place at Skandia but the Skandians most treasured treasure was stolen, the Andromel. Book 2 takes place during the sea because Hal’s crew, the Herons, are trying to chase the crew who stole the Andromel. This takes place in the past because there are no guns, and all weapons are the weapons of the past. This is my favorite series so far. This is a great book to people who are adventure lovers. If you think this is a good book, You should also try the Ranger’s Apprentice Series as well.
I'm reading the book Love, Aubrey by Suzanne Lafleur. So far in this book Aubrey has is living with her grandmother but from the beginning, Aubrey’s mom left without telling Aubrey. So for almost a week she lived by herself. But then her gran came to her house and Aubrey was the only one there but gran was expecting Aubrey’s mom. After a day or two of looking for Aubrey’s mom gran decided to take Aubrey home to Vermont, and Aubrey had to leave Virginia behind. Now every day at Gran’s house Aubrey has to do chores.
My opinion on this book is four and a half stars out of five, because this book interests me a lot because Aubrey is in a tough situation and gran is trying to push her away. Also I like this type of book because I like sad and mysterious types of stories, this is sad when Aubrey’s mom doesn’t care enough to stay with her, and mysterious because Aubrey and gran have no idea where her mom is. The reason I deducted half a point is because gran is also having Aubrey do chores when she is so sad and with her dad dying her mom running away and something happening to her sister, and Gran still makes her do chores.
Basketball (or something like it) Nora Raleigh Baskin
the characters are all on the North Bridge basketball team Hank, Jeremy, and Nathan are the main characters so far. The problem so far seems to be that the basketball coach is not that great but the kids are good and they lack good coaching. The setting is in North Bridge Middle schools basketball court most of the time. I think this is a really good book i would recommend it to anyone it is not huge book but not small.
The book that I am currently reading is Crossed by Ally Condie. The characters in this book are Cassia and Ky. Cassia is a citizen and Ky is an aberration which means he is not like the other citizens. The society only takes care of citizens not aberrations. This book’s setting takes place in the future where Cassia and Ky are in two different camps. The conflict that Cassia and Ky are facing are that they have been separated by the society and Cassia is doing everything in her power to find Ky. My opinion of the book is that in the beginning it was kind of confusing because the author did not really explain where she was so I got a bit confused but later on I began to realize where she was at and what kinds of things she is experiencing.
Max Pluta Period 8 The book that I am currently reading is an biography about Micheal Jordan. The summary of the book is Micheal Jordan makes great decisions in his life. But he also struggles in life and try's to overcome these things. For example, when he was in the 1997 finals he had the flue against the Utah Jazz. He had to overcome the flue and play with it. He also won the game and did excellent. Overall the book tells his life story and how he lived.
Jordan Nehs Period 8 I am reading the book Love,Aubrey by Suzanne Lafleur. Some characters are Aubrey,Bridget,Gram and Savannah. The setting is modern day Virginia and Vermont. Personally I really like this book it gives us a dose of reality that not everybody is as fortunate as us and not everybody has it as good as us.For example Aubrey has to live alone with her siblings and has to pay for everything with the money she has left over from her birthday which is not that much. And she has to support her family. Also Aubrey goes with her Gram and gram takes care of her and her siblings for a while and she meets someone named Bridget and now they have became good friends. Also the book is a book is a fun book to read you just want to keep on reading because the writer uses words that makes you want to keep on reading he really uses his words wisely.
Currently, I have read the book Fairy Tale by: Cyn Balog. The main characters are Morgan Sparks, her boyfriend Cam, their good friend Pip,Cam's betrothed Dawn, and Morgan's mom. They live in modern time United States. Morgan is not a average girl. She sees things that no one else sees. She envisions things. But she never imagined in her wildest dreams that she would see anything like this. She saw herself staring at her boyfriend's back in horror. Not long after, she found that Cam, the football star, the dreamily handsome boy, the guy she knew everything about, was turning into a fairy! He was growing wings, shrinking, and becoming a magic bug!The worst news of all was that, on their sixteenth birthday (Morgan and Cam share a birthday) Cam would leave to go too the other world forever!!!! That means she only has 2 weeks left with her man before she lost him for all eternity. This devastated Morgan until she started having feeling for another guy... I really enjoyed this story because it was romantic and a fantasy.
Identity Theft By: Anna Davies The main characters of Identity Theft are Hayley, Adam, and Matt. The setting of the story takes place in modern times at a high school, and a coffee shop. The problem in the book is that Hayley doesn't have a facebook since she has to keep a spotless image for her college resume but then she discovers something. She sees that there is a fake facebook account with a girl that has the same exact name as her. The girl in the photos are identical to Hayley! The girl claims to be Hayley and is ruining her reputation. Hayley is also getting strange texts and things are being taken from her room. I think this is one of the most interesting books I have ever read. The reason why I think this is because the book keeps you on edge, you never want to put it down because just when you think you have it all figured out theres a new twist.
The book I am reading is ‘bomb’ by Steve Sheinkin. The story takes place in December of 1938 to 1945, due to the Japan bombing of 1945. In 1938 a german laboratory made a shocking discovery: when placed from radioactive material from a uranium atom split in two. With this eye-popping discovery, scientists are anxious from dealing with the tiniest of atom particles to making a bomb that can take expel a small state. I give this book a 3 out of 3 from it’s suspense of the making and planning of what’s going to be the worlds most historical event with public bombings and stealth bombings. My opinion of this book is very interesting. The ways of how mostly every continent in the world at that past time had different ideas. Each one at a different format. That is why I give a full grade for the book ‘Bomb’, and I highly encourage all 6th to 7th grade students to read this book. In case you like suspense and a summary that leads to great and famous landmarks and events.
My book was Crossing The Wire, By:Will Hobbs. The book is about two kids named Rico and Victor. They both want money for their families, so they want to cross the wire and get money to their families. The first place they go is Arizona then to... You have to read the book to know were else they go.
In the book I am reading is a scary and mysterious book and it is about a mysterious, carnival near Halloween time and it has two boys named Will and Jim who are clueless and confused because there has not been a carnival since a long time ago and in this one it is near Halloween so it is even more scary than you may think. This book is called Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.
In a small town Will and Jim were born at the same hospital and 1 minute apart from the same day. They were best friends since they were born and they even lived by each other house next to house. These boys were not much of troublemakers, but very curious when it comes to their town.
I really love this book because it is very scary for Halloween and it is also an inference book of what's going to happen next every chapter. I also like it because when you read you get sucked in and can't get out until you figure out what happens every chapter because it feels like you are the boys and you live in that same town and experience the same things the boys do. {and trust me you do not want to be those boys.] Also, this book has really good vocab and one of the words I saw twice was awe meaning awesome or shocked.
I really think if you like mystery and horror you will literally have chills on Halloween Night!!!! Beware, if you don't like scary things I would not even dare look at the front.[ or even better don't even look at it or for it.}
I am reading Elephant Run. This book is by Roland Smith. I am on page 130. The main characters are Nick, Nick's father, Mya,and the Mahouts. The author is Burmese which is where the story takes place. In the beginning of the book it says that he is Burmese. He reveals indirectly that MAYBE part of this story was true about him and his life or heritage.

I have this book on my "Someday List". I can't wait to read it. Your comment on our blog post just made me even more excited to read it.

Nancy Drew mysteries were the first books to really make me become a reader. I am looking forward to hearing if you like them as much as I did :)

The Hobbit
By J.R. Tolkien
Keep it up!

City of Ashes
Cassandra Clare

ReplyDeleteRyan’s Journal by Patrick Carman.

ReplyDeleteI am reading "When you reach me" by Rebecca Stead.

I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
The exposition of the book I am Number Four the setting is set on Earth.

Brian's Return

I am not sure what you mean by structure. Can you elaborate on this? I am very curious!

I am reading Dial L for Losers by Lisi Harrison.

Trash by Andy Mulligan

ReplyDeleteErak’s Ransom by John Flanagan
This is a great fantasy book about life in the medieval times, when they use swords, bows, etc.

ReplyDeleteThe book that I am currently reading is called "Watcher in the Woods" by "Robert Liparulo".

The book I am currently reading is called The Enchantress, by Michael Scott.

ReplyDeleteRight now, I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie.

The book I am reading is boys without names.

The book I am reading is A Tale Dark & Grimm by Adam Gidwitz.

BrotherBand Chronicles- Book 2: The Invaders
By: John Flanagan
The main character of the book is Hal.

The reason I deducted half a point is because gran is also having Aubrey do chores when she is so sad and with her dad dying her mom running away and something happening to her sister, and Gran still makes her do chores.

the characters are all on the North Bridge basketball team Hank, Jeremy, and Nathan are the main characters so far.

But he also struggles in life and try's to overcome these things. For example, when he was in the 1997 finals he had the flue against the Utah Jazz. He had to overcome the flue and play with it. He also won the game and did excellent. Overall the book tells his life story and how he lived.

I am reading the book Love,Aubrey by Suzanne Lafleur.

ReplyDeleteBy: Anna Davies
The main characters of Identity Theft are Hayley, Adam, and Matt.

Something Wicked This Way Comes
ReplyDeleteIn the book I am reading is a scary and mysterious book and it is about a mysterious, carnival near Halloween time and it has two boys named Will and Jim who are clueless and confused because there has not been a carnival since a long time ago and in this one it is near Halloween so it is even more scary than you may think.
I really think if you like mystery and horror you will literally have chills on Halloween Night!!!! Beware, if you don't like scary things I would not even dare look at the front.[ or even better don't even look at it or for it.}
